Oh and that Bose stereo? You'd have better sound quality if you went to Wal-Mart and bought a $13 Curtis CD boombox. Just sayin'.

it has 3 total... if you want to call different panels a rebadge.

3 total, for now... Wait until GM gets desperate, you'll see the Caddy version, the Saab version, the Pontiac "Sport" version, the Saturn "We're sooooooo different" version, etc.

:disgust: ill ignore you, you are ignorant and are already showing it.

If anything sucks more than a boring Civic, its an SUV of any make.

Hey, I'm somewhat of a GM fanboi, like you. I just don't get a hardon when I see the company destroying itself with more of the crappy same and more bad decisions.

Cadillac Escalade = Tahoe = Yukon... hence there is a caddy version already.

theres no reason for them to go ANYWHERE else, GM has NEVER sent the tahoe to any other division...

Envoy is not based on the Tahoe. You're thinking of the Yukon.

Just because something perhaps has a "similar" frame or motor or a steering wheel that is shaped similar, that does not make it just a overpriced rebadge.

You rebadge nazis are the worst of the worst.

they have a reason for it, basically to see if there is interest and then to design their own.

See, this is the problem I see with GM. Saab won't design their own SUV. They'll keep using the Trailblazer. The 9-3 will be a rebadged Saturn Ion with leather seats and the 9-5 will be a rebadged Pontiac G6 or something else. GM corporate doesn't like its brands to do something different.

Think I'm a little off my rocker? Check out the Saturn Ion Redline... its a 9-3 powertrain with a Saturn shell. Granted its supercharged instead of turbo, but everything else enginewise is the same. The engine block is even stamped Saab. Wanna bet that the Ion Redline with some minor interior changes will become the new 9-3? Look at the 9-2, its a Subaru! Not a bad car, but its another rebadge! No ingenuity there.

OP - nice choice, it's my favorite interior in a GM vehicle, Cadillac and Corvette included.

EDIT: Rebadge nazis need to keep in mind the main reason to hate rebadging is when a company produces many versions of a bad product. If they are simply creating many versions of a good product, what's the big deal? Yes some of the Chevy/GMC versions are pretty close, but the Cadillac and Saab trucks look pretty unique.

Here are some more near "rebadges" for you to get up in arms about:

Porsche Cayenne - VW Touareg - Audi Q7
Honda Civic - Acura RSX
European Accord - Acura TSX
Camry - ES350
Jag S-Type - Lincoln LS

Yes I know these vehicles could be considered just platform mates, but think about it. They all share platforms, body styles, drive systems, often they share engines, and they almost always share at least some interior trim. Just because the GM vehicles have more similar styling doesn't mean they are the only ones guilty.

You must be a chump if you think Honda pumps out low-quality cars.
Its too bad American car companies won't realize that lay-offs and short-term revenue plans = bad for the American economy in the long run

I don't have a problem with rebadging, per se. Its just when GM designs a horrible vehicle and does 8 versions of it.

The Japanese brands seem to do a two tiered approach. They have the model for most people and then the luxury/performance division. The vehicles are rebadges to a certain extent, but there are definite improvements when you go to the upper tier. That makes sense to me.

GM, OTOH, builds several versions of the vehicles that aren't that different. For example, the Grand Prix vs. the Impala, or the G6 vs. the Malibu or the Buick mega-SUV vs. the Chevy mega-SUV. Are they really that different? Is one an improvement over the other? I'd say no.
