He's implicating us older folks and saying we can't criticize "snowflakes" without criticizing ourselves.

You were triggered by the word "snowflakes" and missed the actual message.
There are so many trigger words and phrases these days, that no doubt many of them get used inadvertently; not within the context in which they are comprehended by others to cause insult.

OMG, you mean I've had the wrong guy all of this time. Never mind then, Rowe and Ferguson are both cool. Carry on.

Google turned this up:
https://m.facebook.com/TheRealMikeRowe/posts/780992565244222

"Flying back from Boston. My seat-mate thinks I’m the guy from the Maytag commercials, and I’ve been acting the part. I can only hope the new Maytag Guy is returning the favor on some other flight. Anyway, it seems an ideal time to answer some questions from The Wall in a fit of viewer engagement I like to call, “Hey Mike!”

...
...
...

Anyway, the pilot has just informed me that we have begun our initial descent. Interesting metaphor...

More later -
Mike
"

So Mike Rowe is partially responsible for perpetuating the confusion.

You know, when it's pretty obvious to all the adults that the GOP has been hijacked by ignorant sociopaths, leaving very little room for reasonable, honest, conservative-minded folks willing to actually participate in our republic, it doesn't seem like a good idea to excoriate those like Mike Rowe, who seems like a reasonable, chill dude, who remains in full control of his brain, and who may see the world a bit differently than you, but is otherwise an honest broker and whom you can actually learn some things from, regarding what you may call "the other side."

If the Republican party is to survive as a participating force in our democracy, you actually need people like Rowe, assuming he is such, to bring politics back towards the center.

I don't think he even openly identifies as a republican or a conservative. I get the impression he is a smart guy who would reject Trump, but might avoid saying so in public because that would make enemies of the hard working tradesmen he supports.

agreed and I was a bit harsh and in a bad mood. But I have been reading him a loooong time though have slowed down over the years. Some things I didn't like his attack on flag burners, apparent attacks on those who kneel during nfl games in protest, posting a local shoplifters picture on his facebook, he compared Trump's victory to that of his Dirty Jobs show because only Trump cares about those kinds of workers, and recently i saw him go off on a lady who (and I disagree with her) that a college education was the only way to go. Fine. But then he questions her desire to do actual work with one snarky closing line - now implying her white collar work was not even worthy , and more.

So basically, I hope his trade school initiatives succeed and what I supported about him for day 1. But he has been turning into more of a dipshit IMO. As far as not getting political, I'm pretty sure where his leanings lie but he won't say it. Probably worried about ratings. I still think he does a lot of good with his foundations, but at the end of the day he is still a bit of a blowhard.

Mike Rowe on Facebook today about Krauthammer

Yeah ok.
I recall Roger Ebert referring to Krauthammer as one of the few reasoned / intellectual right-wing pundits. You disagree?

Yeah ok.

The Krauthammer thread is a sh**show. The man raises so much ire purely by being a realist which doesn’t support their fantasies... like any successful analyst. You’re clearly latching onto that anti-Krauthammer sentiment to try and steer their agreement here in an attempt to salvage your dignity. You didn’t even consider whether or not you/they were right about Krauthammer.

Sorry, bud. Not going to work. Ain’t hap’nin’.

Mike Rowe is what every American should aspire to be, the ideal citizen. If America had 325 million Mike Rowes, there would be no need for welfare of any type. He symbolizes what made America great from 1940 to 1070.

He represents higher marginal tax rates to ensure that the middle class isn't sold off to the highest bidder?

Oh. Right. You're a simpleton.

Nevermind.

You are correct, if every american who was not already mike Rowe wealthy had a net worth of 35 million there would be no poverty.

What stopped happening at 1970?

He's like an angry old man, that comes around every generation, shitting on the younger generation for being lost, or something. You hear it every generation about the last. I heard it about mine from the older folks. And it takes him like 15 paragraphs to get to that point.

WTF... Rowe is solidly in the younger generation's corner. If you bother to listen to him or read enough his non-profit specifically helps the younger generation. Apparently Rowe understanding the issues and either speaking to or writing about them offends you. He knows more about what is going wrong for the millennial generation than you ever will... or seemingly accept.
