can someone send Kaliedosky at 15,228 an invite to one of the alliances? he is a close RL friend and a carryover from Ikariam as well

hmm thinking there's more to the end game than we know.

The Union is a way for two lords to come together, allowing a strong lineage to be formed through the campaigns. One month after the beginning of the War of Tears, you may start to search for the perfect partner.

For the three lines of development, it is advisable to choose a partner whose profile is opposite to yours. For example, if you are Domination > Honor > Wealth, a partner with Wealth > Domination > Honor would be preferable.
It is best to choose a partner with similar cultural affinities to yours: Inferno / Necro et Haven/Academy.
You are not obliged to play together afterwards.
Whether you are first or last in the rankings, having a good partner will bring the same number of points. This partner may also be first or last: only their profile counts.
You can wait until the last minute to link up, as this has no importance.
Your profile is determined by your average during the whole of the War of Tears. Your position (1st, 2nd, 2073rd...) determines your profile.

The Union allows you to win up to 60 extra Legacy points to spend on your next campaign. Careful though: it is your ranking on the final day that will determine your profile.

Enjoy the game!

The M&M HK team.

Seems you have to do well or start over when the season ends.
At the end of the War of Tears, the victory of an alliance will trigger a cataclysm that will annihilate your kingdoms. In her great wisdom, Asha will offer protection to those lords whose kingdoms are still active at the time of the cataclysm. This protection will allow them to survive and foster a legacy that will rebuild the family chateau and head off to conquer the new world.

You direct heir will have the strength of your bloodline and ancestors, and will begin his career by choosing up to 4 special abilities that will give him an advantage over newcomers. The number and strength of these abilities will depend on your performance over the current season.

Fight to the end, collect resources, and rack up victories, as this will maximize the strength of your descendants.

I got no problem waiting hours for a level 19 building to upgrade to level 20.

When I first start the game, you'd better have something for me to do again in 5 minutes to keep my attention. Or 10 minutes. Fuck, a half hour is pushing it but that's still one EIGHTH of the time I'm waiting for this stupid mine to get cleared.

Reading comprehension FTW.

Besides, I've played the fuck out of tons of browser games, so don't go acting like I don't know what I'm doing or have never done this before, noob.

good point he makes does

As far as not having much to do when you check in on the game, I agree that there aren't a lot of micromanagement issues to take care of. I spend the bulk of my time (10 minutes maybe per day) trying to optimize my troops for a fight.

Like I'm only just now making my first attack against the outer ring, and it should net me 1600 some experience for my main hero. And that's because i'm attacking with a force that is only a little bit more than half the strength of the defending NPC force.

I'll admit I've never been much up on these deep strategy games before. How does that work? (In other words, what kind of strategy is involved so that you aren't simply annihilated?)

I tried that (I cleared 2 outer squares) but all the remaining ones have tonnes of archers. My first cavalry unit is the 4th on the build sequence and that will take forever to get to.
(I did try attack with superior military strength but that didn't work. Wish I had tried that tool that was posted here - http://mmhk.jactari.info/fight before I did that futile attack)

Yeah it'll take me at least two days I think to save up enough resources to build my cavalry building, though I am close.

On my planned next attack, I'm using some of my cavalry, expect one loss, and then the rest I'm using my cheap archers (familiars) to kill.

I definitely wasted a good number of cavalry early on before I started optimizing fights, which is a shame. But I should have three new ones coming in as a quest reward.

I plan to fool around with Jactari to figure out if there are any other outer squares that I can kill with just Imps and Familiars, maybe a few horned demons, while taking reasonable losses.

Ideally I won't be recruiting very much for the next 2-3 days so that I'll have the resources to build the Howling Kennels.

edit: Also, has anybody put any thought or research into what to build for regional buildings? (Fields, towers, etc?) I have some open spaces now but don't have a good grasp on what is important/efficient.

Yeah. The season stuff is interesting. It sounds like they last about 6 months. They sneak in their balancing between seasons along with other changes.

I'm sort of treating this as a training season. Work for season 2 bonuses, get a chance to learn about the 3 paths to obtain a tear, learn about the abilities of different factions, and good hero templates.

I'm hoping I enjoy this game a lot, because the fact it isnt a time sink is actually a big bonus for me. I imagine there are some hectic times when there is battling on the front lines though.

Speaking of front lines, I read that your map placement can end up determining what you do for parts of the season. People in the center tend to provide resources to the people battling on the front lines.

strategy/wiki ANYWHERE for this game?! or just the stuff from ubi?

I did some scanning through their forums to try to get a bearing on some aspects of the game. There is some guy who is super informative, but unfortunately his english is confusing. He has a Samuel L. Jackson/Jaws hybrid animated gif signature that is neat, but very distracting.

So my attack leveled my hero to 4 which is good. 3 new cavalry. Next attack will cost me 1 cavalry and 9 familiars (unsure as how to proceed, still trying to decide if I should spend points on Harangue lvl 2).

But no matter, the new quest I received means that whatever I do, after this next battle I will receive another 3 cavalry.

Edit: Decide to leave harangue at 1, add fighter and one of the fighter skills. I have a surplus of time at this point, and there is no rush.

Also, haven't received an item yet.

First attack on the second ring netted me 3 mercury and an item. Harness lvl1 increased gold production by 4%. body part chest. So I have a harness (like for a horse, icon is a horse head+harness on my... chest? The 4% doesn't appear to be overall increase, I think it's extra gold from looting (which I haven't seen yet).

After that attack I noticed icons for various resources next to the NPC power total, I didn't notice that power total yesterday, maybe it's new? Just hover over an occupied tile to see this, I assume it's the resource type you get when you clear it.

edit: items bind to the hero, but are unbound 4 days after you unequip it.

Starting out fighting without that calculator hurt. It might just be me and my units, but I feel gimped with fairly wimpy shooter units, and I won't get anything stronger until Liches, which seems several days away.

It'll take me that to recruit up the ~80 skeletons I need to begin to challenge the weakest of the outer ring squares. I need twice that many to not lose a ton on the fight.

the sequential slot based rock-paper-scissor system is making me think its going to be hard to have many overrun victories. only works out if they have a single type. otherwise you will crush the opponent you have bonus over, but then all the surviving units will take a beating.

im not sure the alternative of barely winning each round is much better. one thing is for sure, if you do take that approach your last stack can avoid losses since you know they wont be matching up against anyone after the round.

bleh, I've totally lost interest with this game. Anyone want to take over my account, just reply to this message and I'll send you info. way slow and I simply don't have the time to keep everyone doing what they need to do.

No idea if I got my guys started on the wrong foot, but there ya go.

I'm a mage clan, btw.

Guys on the controlled zones, do you build research building or troop buildings?

I am planning to probably build research.

Outside gold, the bonuses seem quite small, at least for the initial buildings. Seems like it'd amount to one extra resource every couple days. Pretty spendy for that.

I'll probably do a couple for gold, and a couple for troops.

I've been playing for about a day and I feel like I'm missing a lot. Anybody have some general tips? Also, is there anyway to see where your heroes are attacking and to cancel their movement? It's annoying to send them off somewhere and then either forget where I'm sending them or realize I wanted to use their skill points.
