The original misstatement (edited from lie, I don't think your being malicious, just uninformed):
Unfortunately SP2 has opened just as many holes as it closes, most worse than what they fixed.

What you posted to prove your point:
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for XP Service Pack 2 (KB890923)

The truth:

More FUD. The link you posted for is to address MS05-20. That exploit is on:

? Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 and Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

? Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2

? Microsoft Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Service Pack 1 (Itanium)

? Microsoft Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Version 2003 (Itanium)

? Microsoft Windows Server 2003

? Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based Systems

? Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), and Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (ME) Tested Microsoft Windows Components:

Your claim is that SP2 opens as many new holes as it's closes. You have yet to cite a single example.

Thank you for playing, please try again....

Tsk, Tsk, Bill.
Would have thought the Guru of Symantec would be a little more open minded.

Just because Microsoft doesn't acknowledge Security flaws doesn't mean they do not exsist.

PC-WELT discovers and fixes serious security issue in Windows XP SP2

AS to not get in to get into a pissin' match, I will let you calling me a "misinformed liar" go by.....😎

Final Post on this matter from me as it is futile.....

No doubt, and there will be more. The point was you claimed "SP2 has opened just as many holes as it closes". This simply is not backed up by any evidence presented. All you've posted so far is one issue that was a pre-SP2 one, and one that is SP2. So, unless your saying those are the only two vulnerabilities in XP, you haven't proved your point 😉

I will let you calling me a "misinformed liar" go by.....

My point was that I was not calling you a liar (sorry it it appeared I was), I don't beleive you have any malicious intent. I suspect you honestly believe what you posted, I'm trying to point out the facts don't back your assertion.
