lol, you libs are hilarious. Just because one panders to the base doesn't mean the base comes out or will vote for you. You see, we want to see RESULTS and when you consistently pander and then go to Washington and get all spineless and become ineffective - you get booted.
Conservatism works and wins - this "moderate" BS you libs are pushing as a fix for the GOP is nothing but political hackery and wishful thinking. The move should not be left as the GOP has already gone too far left (hello neocons? ). It needs to get back to some real Conservatism. Hopefully Steele can help move the GOP to a more consistent Conservative position on the things that matter like Fed budgeting.

'Conservatism never fails, it is only failed'!

By all means man, keep on going further to the right. Keep right on going! Ahahahahaha.

"going further"? Buahahaha... The reality is the GOP has been moving left lately... it's no wonder they are losing.

I would love to see these mental gymnastics.

It's quite simple - look at how the last 6 years have gone. Show me how the GOP has gone more "right" or Conservative.

do you want me to list them individually, or can i get away with a blanket 'pretty much everything'?

These are what you call "moving to the left"? Really?

 Are you really that stupid? Picking a couple things(that are arguably neocon) that are pretty much hyperbole doesn't mean much. Plus, the D's voted for the use of force. So your 1 almost valid point is pretty much mute as both parties voted for it.

Why would the Democrats voting for something make it not conservative? Is 'liberal' somehow now defined as 'the position of the United States Democratic Party'? (oh, and it's moot point, not 'mute' point)

Wait, you're CAD. I don't want to argue with you because this will go nowhere. Please continue to agitate for the Republican party to become more conservative. I beg this of you.

A mute point? Is that at all similar to a moot point by any chance?

Good luck with that. There has been very little that the GOP has done that has moved to the right (Conservative) in the last 6 years. On the whole - it has moved left.
Amnesty support
Ever increasing Federal spending(biggest increase since Johnson?)
Prescription drug bill (more socialized fed BS)
Federal DOE increased 38% under Bush and R's
Do I need to mention how they (Bush and eventually congress) socialized banking(losses) with the bailout?

Yeah, clearly the GOP has moved right... Any Conservative will tell you that the past 6 years has been anything but a movement right.

so you can only have a spine if you are a conservative republican, and moderate republicans don't have spines?

Well, the moderate republicans aren't the closet queer ones. You've gotta circle the wagons around someone, so you might as well circle them around someone who might toss your salad under pressure.

Offhand, can you tell me what you typed that it autocorrected some misspelling of 'moot' to 'mute'? I've been trying to replicate it, but so far no luck.

I don't think the problem is the republicans being conservative and if you think that we liberals think that you are wrong. The problem is the neocon anti-science religious nut jobs. If you can purge that crap from your party hell I might vote with you depending on the candidate.

lol, he said "skeet." :p

Sure, there are some fringe parts within the party but I do think the libs give them more power than they actually have. It's no different than the fringe groups of the D party. So while I might agree, it holds true for both parties.

I'm genuinely curious. I've tried all the possible combinations of misspellings that I can think of, and I can't get it to autocorrect any permutation of 'moot' into 'mute'. Any suggestions?

i don't know. I'm lying on the couch with the computer on the coffee table because my back is all F'd. If I knew, I'd tell you. But muut does correct to mute but I can't tell you if that's what I hit or not.
Does that help you with your problem, or are you going to continue to troll?

The Mfume endorsement? It came not from the former Democratic candidate for the seat Kweisi Mfume but from his son Michael . And those signs? Well, Steele is no Democrat.

I also think there was an 'incident' on Faux News where during an interview with him they scrolled his party affiliation as 'Democrat'

Hrmmm, 'muut' only shows 'mute' as option #4 for me, behind 'must', 'mutt', and 'muumuu'. (ha!) I'll continue to try new combinations though and keep you informed on my progress, we'll figure this out together!

Although I must admit I have a sneaking suspicion someone didn't know that it was actually 'moot', but that's just me.

EDIT: If anyone else is able to find ways to form 'mute' out of 'moot' using autocorrect, please feel free to send in your contributions.

There, there CAD. There, there. I will do my best not to continue keep trolling. Crap, my autocorrect made that last sentence grammatically incoherent.

My best wishes to your back! I have back problems myself, and I know they're no fun. Have you tried Flexeril? Not only will it help your back, but it's the ticket to a pretty loopy night.

Why am I reminded of this quote?

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality?judiciously, as you will?we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out."

Who knows. Pay it no mind.

Nothing a few more days of taking it easy and a couple chiropractor appts won't be able to resolve... I hope :) I am seriously considering going to the doc though to see if they'll write a scrip for some meds. It's been 3 weeks and has gotten worse as far as pain goes but movement in my back has increased due to the adjustments. So while I have a pain in my ass (lower back strain with sciatic nerve pain all the way through the hams) literally - I have it here on AT with you libs as well... ;)

Care to get back to the subject yet?
