LOL, you guys complain but didn't even read my OP correctly given your criticism:

"This is the case according to a new book "Do As I Say, Not As I Do."

It supposedly has the IRS documents with Moore's signature showing he owns stock in these various companies. "

"This site talks about it a bit"

Okay? No one has shown any credible evidence that Micheal Moore owns any Haliburton stock... Even if he does... So what? What's so hypocrticial about it?

What's hypocritical about Moore owning Haliburton stock?

I won't take that as a serious question.

It is a decent question. Hypocritical sure, but it was friggen smart move if it is true.

The liberal responses here make me want to throw up.

Again, not all liberals are like those responding here. I'm honestly a little shocked that you would excuse his actions... I guess that might be what "moral relativity" is.

I thought I would hear:

I just wanted to point out (as the owner of the site your thread cited) that I am a liberal myself...but Moore's hypocrisy annoyed me to no end. It seems to have generated a fair amount of interest, too (my site has gotten double the normal traffic, most from the two posts I've made about this).

I did like this question

Suppose Moore buys stock in Pharmaceutical companies. Then he starts his movie Sicko and goes after the competitors of his stocks. When the movie hits theaters, he cashes out with the dividends on the movie and his stock goes up a couple of points and he sells them at profit.

BTW, It would be interesting if Moore was a Republican Creep afterall... investing in bombs because it makes him money

Hi there. :) I was speaking about you when I have made the point that not all liberals would excuse this. Anyway, I hope you gain some more permanent traffic from this thread and others. I'm a libertarian who supports Bush ATM, but I consider seriously opinions from liberals like you who have shown to stick by their principles when its harder to do so

Huh? Hasn't he painted Haliburton to be practically related to Satan and any money given to Haliburton would be like giving it to Satan.. or ??

:) You are a rare individual these days...someone who can consider opinions from the other side. Seems not many can do so. Ever considered the Supreme Court? :)

Thanks for linking to my post...I'll admit I didn't find this myself, either. An online pal, fellow submariner who frequents my blog (and argues with me incessantly over politics) pointed it out. It struck me as very, very hypocritical, given how Moore had pilloried Halliburton, and other big corporations, and even decried the stock market in general. He certainly has every right to do what he will with his money, but that sort of hypocrisy sure does take the wind out of any morally "high ground" arguments one would make.

Thanks again for all the traffic :)

Now he knows how many of us feel when he and the other Bush lovers defend his Wars and policies and his colostomy bag administrations lies

They defend torture
defend secret prisons
defend deaths of people imprisoned who have never been charged with a crime
defend $250,000,000 bridges in the middle of nowhere

Defend his ZERO VETOES record... << that is embarassing

Defintely you are welcome. Thanks for staying honest, IMO it does more for the causes you believe in than 100 screaming partisans

I don't care what they defend, they just should be able to have well reasoned debates.

I can't say I've seen any recently on the forum.

There is an argument to be made for investing in the stock of companies that you don't like. As a part owner of the company you have some say in how the company is run.

So, on the one hand, we have an administration filled with liars and crooks, and on the other, a fat, sweaty filmmaker. Which one is more responsible for the problems we face in Iraq and elsewhere?

Obviously, the fat sweaty filmmaker! He hates America and his hate empowers Dick Cheney and Israel's enemies and somehow makes them a threat to America
