Memorizing Pi

We are having a contest in my Pre-Calc class to see who can memorize the most digits of pi. The current record of any student is 222 digits. We got this assignment yesterday, and right now I already have 60 digits memorized. My goal is 250.

What is the most that any of you have ever memorized?
 
3.141592653

thats wha my TI-83 will diasplay. thats all i know

i beleive teh world record is something like 65,000

I had a delicious apple once...I remember it like it was yesterday......it had a lattace crust on the top and best apples I've ever tasted! 😉
 
heh a friend of myne told me he once memorized pi to 132 digits. Hmm you guys are lucky, when i took precalc in my class there was no fun aloud. :frown:

If memorizing pi is your definition of "fun" then you have bigger issues than a boring pre-calc class... 😛


I just use 3.14159... Never really bothered to memorize more.

e is cool cause it repeats for a little while: 2.71828182something....

yes, i would rather spend hours and days memorizing a stupid number than take a quiz that makes up 5% of my grade!!
 
I would always play with my calculator in high school and decided to memorize pi one day.

I got 3.141592654......................the 4 is there because my calculator would always round up (since the next digit is 5)...so I'm always a little off 🙁

No pies here 🙁 but I do have some diamond "pecan pie" glazed pecans -- mmm. The glazed walnuts are good too.

And this class assignment seems like a complete waste of time and brain cells.
