damn.. I would've loved an assignment like that.. The competition in my class was always nuts. Usually I'm good at the obscure things.. I be I would've won that.


I believe that if you know the proper summation formula for pi, you won't even have to memorize at all.. and if you can essentially keep track of a 2 digit * 2 digit multiplication in your head, you can spout each next digit that way... At least that's what I heard.

Memorize it 10 or 20 digits at a time. Get someone (not in your class, you don't want to help them!) to help you out. 222 shouldn't be too terribly hard if you work at it.

Anyways, the trick is to make up a story or poem and assign the letter to the numbers in pi


 
3.141592653 is all that I remember and unless something comes up that requires it, I doubt I'll be worrying about memorizing more digits.

Actually this ratio was found centuries ago.

i used to know more, but when i realized that people would much rather have as small a number of decimal places as possible, i decided 3.141 was enough, with error.

that's the most i ever used while typing into a calculator (4 fxn).

in most calculations, there is no need to memorize that many digits of pi.
 
Not like pre-calc is that hard anyways. I think your time would be better spent if you got familar with how to cheat using a TI-8x series calc later in life.

I was trying to say that was when I learned to use it instead of 22/7.
