I'd agree with that, completely upending the federal government and status quo in DC was the point of electing him. He's our first third party candidate and his policies don't really matter so much. It's the opportunity to destroy the corruption that is the appeal.

As this unfolds, you may or may not even notice just how delusional that really is. Trump's cabinet will be bog standard Repub (lots of recycled GWB era players) with astronger tilt to alt-right bullshit.

Their means & methods will do nothing to allay the economic malaise of rural & small town America. What they'll get is the emotional satisfaction of punishing the rest of America for our sins of modernity. We'll see if that's enough to keep them in thrall to the principles of culture war they embrace.
