Do you think that politics is a static notion? Have you ever seen this quote?

If You Are Not a Liberal at 25, You Have No Heart. If You Are Not a Conservative at 35 You Have No Brain

You do know that Churchill never said that don't you? It's a made up quote.

Schumer (along with Sanders) has endorsed Keith Ellison for party chair so it's a fair shot that he gets the job. I'd put it at even money that Trump and the GOP will face a slate of Sanders style progressives in 2018 and nearly certain for 2020. Populism and anger are fickle things people.

Sanders and the rest of the current progressive cast IS populism. It just happens to be left-wing populism.

the gop just tossed a holy hand grenade into the federal government.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

Doesn't matter, he didn't quote Churchill and we all know there is some truth to it

No, actually, we don't. But I get the concept. You make something up and then, when it's pointed out that it's not true, simply declare "but it makes a good point" (even though it doesn't actually do anything of the sort).

You chided him for posting a supposed Churchill quote that wasn't actually Churchill's, but he did not attribute the quote to Churchill. Just admit you messed up and move on, it's not a sign of weakness to admit when you mess up you know.

“Why should we trust you as chair to lead us through this?” he asked, according to two people in the room. “You backed a flawed candidate, and your friend [former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] plotted through this to support your own gain and yourself.”

Some DNC staffers started to boo and some told him to sit down. Brazile began to answer, but Zach had more to say.

“You are part of the problem,” he continued, blaming Brazile for clearing the path for Trump’s victory by siding with Clinton early on. “You and your friends will die of old age and I’m going to die from climate change. You and your friends let this happen, which is going to cut 40 years off my life expectancy.”

Brazile needs to go, and give the DNC a chance to rebuild.

This was... one guy, right? Out of a room of 150 staffers.

The real takeaway, other than the concern trolling & Democrat bashing?-

A third attendee told HuffPost that, despite Zach’s blow-up, there was “overwhelming” support for Brazile in the room. Her motivational words “had some staffers in tears,” per this attendee, and Brazile spoke to Zach’s concerns after he left.

We won, you and your shitheads lost. Loser.

Dude, I'm not an American. I don't like either of the Clintons. I think the Democratic Party is pretty much fucked. And, best of all, the leader of my country isn't that shit stain Donito Trumpolini. Life is pretty darn good.

So, yeah, loser, whatever. <snicker>

Hint - progressive ideas wouldn't have won you the election.

Less progressive was def Neocon Hillary. Terms of progress she was a disaster.
People need motivation to vote, they need a reason. Saving their asses on income and healthcare is a great motivator.
The platform needs to an economic revolution. Current economy is just 40 years of slowly going to !@#$.

I'd agree with that, completely upending the federal government and status quo in DC was the point of electing him. He's our first third party candidate and his policies don't really matter so much. It's the opportunity to destroy the corruption that is the appeal.

I'll go with nostalgia and nativism. It makes more sense to me given the demographics and regions Trump won in.

Try economics and working 2-3 jobs on avg. Urban democrats didn't mobilize their rural buddies with hope and lost it all.

I agree in the sense that that was definitely one of the reasons. However, as far as I'm concerned, economics played a lesser role for one, and for the other, Trump's message, a message of turning the clock back to better times for all no matter how empty and rhetorical that message may be, was much more of a factor in swaying votes his way than the Dems sleeping on the job. His protectionist rhetoric that was wrapped inside a traditional values battle flag was the final nail in the Dems coffin. His notoriety as an all-around asshole was completely overwhelmed by the hope he gave to those who really are in a time of need.

Trump hit those emotionally persuasive buttons dead on the money and it was, IMO, THE crucial factor in his miracle win of the century.

The DNC should be congratulated on rigging the election, against themselves.

The people who defeated Hillary are the Age of Aquarius hippies who grew up, realized some success, and knew it wasn't in their best interest to give away everything they have earned.
Sounds like Wiscosin and Michigan down to a tee really...
