She was on Terry Gross's Fresh Air on NPR last month and was fairly frank. I gained a little bit more respect for her after that but she has a ways to go.

Never mind that it's widely documented that Fox serves as a mouthpiece for the Republican party, and that both Murdoch and (at least until recently) Ailes insist that their political views are manifested in every media outlet they run...

your words were that fox demands absolute devotion to the GOP. that is 100% false. Shepard smith is a democrat and in my opinion one of the best front man in the industry. there are other democrats who are and were anchors on fox but dont let the facts get in the way of being a left loon.

15 million dollars is obviously enough to retire on. Her demotion could have her retired at a young age should she chose to. I'm going to cry a lot of tears for her plight.

Chuck seems like a nice guy but he's not much of a hard nose reporter. He was ok as a White house news reporter but on the desk in interviews he is far to timid.

Yep. This is apparently a big thing for her in a NYT article a month or two ago- have a show where she could spend more time with her family, like dinners and seeing her kids off to school. An evening show really precluded being able to do the former.

No, there aren't. Sometimes, but not always.

To paraphrase: you're entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts. There are times when ascertaining the truth is difficult, but one of the greatest problems in the media (and not just at Fox) is a tendency to act as if both sides always have similar weight, even when it's clear that only one side is true. During the election, a common gripe was that the media legitimized Trump's near-constant lies and unsubstantiated claims by repeating them while doing little or nothing to question their accuracy. That was "balanced," but not the truth. And journalism is only supposed to be interested in reporting the truth.

I'm reminded of the whole furor over science textbooks in the South. Creationists try to force intelligent design into textbooks to "teach the controversy," but there is no controversy: creationism is imaginary, evolution is a scientifically demonstrable fact. Just because people disagree loudly doesn't mean their opinions have merit.

Chuck sucks because he lets every Trump apologist he interviews walk all over him and then at the end of every interview he gives them a 2 minute uninterrupted speech where they can go over all their talking points. I haven't seen him personally make a single insightful observation in years. He is IMO the worst of the MSNBC hosts on right now.


If she was going to CNN I'd say get rid of Smerconish.
