Mega Man 3

Platypus

Lifer
I think I broke more controllers with this game than any other game I've ever played.

This game comes from the old school where games were so fvcking impossible that you wanted to break something. They don't make games like this anymore.. everything I play I beat at a relatively quick pace, but this little bastard took me over a year to complete.

THe first castlevania really pisses me off. When you have to jump between platform and you get some random objects like a madusa head trips you while you are in the air and cause you to fall off and die. (yes! greatest run-on sentence EVAR!)

Dude I fvcking hate that!!!!! That is the main reason I hated that game as a child.

Nik, this isn't a question or advice thread, this is a nostalgia thread. Off-topic it is, get over it.

CorpRec, ever play MM3 with the controller 2 cheat?

Yeah I did, but even then Wily was still a bitch.

The controller 2 trick is really the only physical way that game is plausable.

Don't forget those annoying flipping platforms! Sometimes I jumped to hit a bat and I would get hit by it then fall on a flipping platform...of course the platform flipped over and down I go to my doom.

Yeah, I played that game (MM3) so many times thru with the end of an unused fireplace poker resting on that controller. Especially when I figured out the invincibility trick with it.

The bats always knocked me off and I would get so pissed.

I didn't have trouble with MM3, it was my favorite MegaMan out of the series... although I like the music from MM2 the best (especially Dr. Wily stage).

It's def the best one of the entire series, but it is still ridiculous.. Spark Man's stage in particular

man..there hasn't been a good Mega Man game in years. I really did not like the PS2 Mega man's at all (X7 and X8). The last good old school Mega Man games I played were Mega Man 8 and X4 for the Sega Saturn (they are also on the PS1).

I pretty much stopped after MM5, I never liked the X series at all

I picked up the MM collection on Xbox. I forgot how hard those games were. I read somewhere that they're doing a MMX collection as well.

The X series are too easy. Classic games like Mega man, you have to keep things simple but make gameplay hard.

Okay, so in what order did you play the levels, to use the previous boss's weapon?

Me: Magnet Man, Hard Man, Top Man, Shadow Man, Spark Man, Needle Man, Snake Man, Gemini Man.

I used to know the order perfectly, couldn't remember for the life of me now though.

Just for extra geek factor:

MM4: Dive Man, Drill Man, Toad Man, Bright Man, Pharaoh Man, Ring Man, Dust Man, Skull Man

MM2: Metal Man, Bubble Man, Heat Man, Wood Man, Air Man, Crash Man, Flash Man, Quick Man

What is the controller 2 trick? I've never heard of this.
