If the 7970 were so great AMD would not need to keep cutting the price. The steam survey and the 3DMark survey both show it lagging in sales. NVIDIA is putting out a higher quality product right now and the market is rewarding them for it. A few obscure benchmarks from sites that are blocked by virus scanners are not going to change that.

what does AMD price cuts have to do with the HD 7970's quality o_O

If the gtx 285 WAS so great then Nvidia wouldn't have had to keep cutting the price.

You mean the gtx280?

Heck i bought one nearly a week before it should have went on market for a whopping $650,frys was nice enough to reimburse me $150 when its price dropped as they simply refused to allow me to get a refund on that card.

The gtx280 was not that great, its the only video card i ever regret purchasing and honestly the upgrade wasn't even needed....most people prob skipped this generation and waited for the 400 series if they owned a 8800 product.

Nvidia is a more popular brand. That fact has been established on this forum for quite a long time now. Nothing surprising.

Now, as it pertains to this game...no single card seems to be enough unless it's dual GPU. That's just my opinion.

I'm getting decent fps around avg of 68 in sp with my card maybe somewhat little lower when I tested with fraps and I think I had it set to ultra.

What ever the case may be or not -- from a consumer and choice point-of-view, it sure is nice to see 28nm price/performance improve and to see that amazing bundle from AMD.

Every post from you is blatant trolling. I suggest people report these posts, they add zero to the discussion.

What about all the posts bashing forums members with personal attacks and accusations of trolling/fanboyism? Those add exponentially less to the discussion, and I can't believe how blatant it has gotten.

Siberian is probably an immature kid/noob. We shouldn't spoil the thread just to give him this much importance :)

AMD might do better in this game but a crap game is a crap game.

We haven't had a good single player MOH game in a long time.Maybe the multiplayer is worth it??

Wake me up when ARMA3 is ready...not in the mood for another kiddie-shooter-on-rails...

Yes some of these war games have been dumbed down immensely.

Most actually...sound like graphics are still console levels too...and with the gameplay being...well...subpar...this is really a nice "win"...LOL

Last SP MOH I enjoyed was Pacific Assault. Guess I'll be skipping this game too, didn't the other one before it get slammed too?

Yeah but at what resolution? I am at 2560x1440 now so I have to have dual gpu. Sucks for me lol

I'm on 1920x1080. I kept v sync on after testing because of screen tearing. So you are saying on high its not playable on your resolution?

Screen tearing sucks.

I was playing CS G0 on the weekend and some guy tried to tell me he had Vsync off was getting 300fps and was seeing no screen tear. I was like sure bud and i'm santa claus lol.

I was looking forward to this game but the MOH series has been hit and miss since the original games so i'm going to wait for feedback from you guys before I touch it.

I'd rather have screen tearing than input lag. Playing MoH right now with Vsync off, the tearing is definitely there but it's not that bad.

I agree with you there input lag is worse!

However if input lag is low Vsync is a must for me screen tearing is too visibly distracting.

Yeah it is. Weird thing. Ultra and high settings with 12.11 very little screen tear for me. Went to 12.10 because battlefield three on the 12 .11 drivers looked washed out and extremely dusty in some indoor areas. But with 12.10 and same settings on moh I have a lot more screen tear if I turn vsync off.

I've said many times that I refuse to play on anything except max in other threads. Also at 2560x1440 a single card on MP servers probably would not be enough for me. I'm not saying it's unplayable so don't misunderstand. I have a standard, since I built this PC that I adhere to and that is 60fps at max settings at native resolution. I will sacrifice some AA to have the 60fps if necessary. Now obviously some games cannot do this even with my hardware (Crysis 1). So I'm still waiting for the GPU solution to do that.

As for screen tearing. Anything above 75fps seems to produce less tearing. As I approach 60fps and below it really gets bad in some games. I have no idea why but that's what I see anyway.

Don't miss the bigger picture. The importance of this being "a win" for AMD is that it uses a very popular game engine that, until these drivers, AMD was behind in.

No one buys shooters for the SP campaigns anymore, at least I dont. I cant remember the last one where I even bothered to complete the SP campaign.

The graphics aren't console levels at all, but the gameplay is pretty much the same as all the other modern military shooters.

I always play through the SP anyway even if it's not the main crux of the game. It will allow me to get used to the engine and many of the controls though. Although nothing could prepare you for the terrible flight controls for the jets in BF3. Maybe it was me since I used to play a lot of flight sims, but it was pretty bad when I tried it. Gave up trying to learn it and stuck to the ground game.

Blasphemy! There is no point to FPS online, it's either Call of Duty/Battlefield3 for the run'n'gun gamers for ARMA for the simulation gamers. With those around, no other FPS needs to exist for online play, and if you think some new kid on the block is going to change that - well then, have at it.

As far as it is nowadays, with the two covering MP I look for a solid SP FPS, you know like Crysis 2 or even Hard Reset. Not the best of SP games, but enough to satisfy that need. EDIT: WTB Bioshock Infinite! Because you know, that game ISN'T being bought for the MP!
