Looks like Kepler architecture is going to continue cleaning up in games based on the Frostbite 2.0 engine. HD7950/7970's performance is miserable, barely providing performance on par with a stock GTX570/580, respectively.

Bulldozer FX8150 is beating Core i5 2500k/2600k (!), although the game will be mostly GPU limited for single-GPU systems.

Actual Test Link

PS. Toyota, looks like someone listened to your complaints about the sandbags in BF3 for the next Medal of Honor game :)

Oh joy...negative sli scaling on the 690 lol.

That's not unexpected without an SLI profile. Look at GTX590 as well. They'll fix it once the official game is released. But how is AMD going to fix a 30-35% performance deficit vs. a 680? :hmm:

Frostbite 2.0 is a next gen game engine for the foreseeable future. AMD needs to address this with HD8000 series ASAP. HD7900 performing no better than GTX570/580 is nothing short of disastrous. First it was BF3, but now it seems that's just how it's going to be for future Frostbite 2.0 games.

wonder if this is with MSAA enable, which causes the AMD GPU's to take a big performance hit....I have a 7950 and I play BF3 on ultra, disabled MSAA, just use FXAA. Runs great, I never dip below 45 fps on MP maps

Negative? No, it is a tad lower clocked than the 680. There is no SLI profile for this game in current public betas (304.79). Negative scaling is something you will see with CF, not with SLI ;)

The FX...that is very interesting! However, looks a bit bogus, too. The Phenom II 940 beating a i5-760 in games? Never. Same thread count, both quadcores, highly unlikely. And 955BE vs. 940, less than 10% more clock but more than 10% fps? I call BS.

Is the 690 possibly a typo for 670? Hmm.. Why didn't they test a 670? That would've been nice. The 690 numbers make zero sense.

Edit: Yeah, no sli profile...

its so stupid to do a cpu test on low settings. many settings impact the cpu so it gives you no idea how your cpu will actually perform. cpu tests need to be done on lower res but on the very highest settings except for AA.

oh and those sandbags still aren't as good looking as the ones in Far Cry 2 never mind Metro 2033. :D

At the end of the day,is the gameplay any better then that horrid MOH from 2010?

Nevermind the graphics, glad to see video cards getting some good usage, but i feel the game will be pushing systems much harder then even BF3 ever will, which is good.

I thought the Single Player of MOH from 2010 (whatever it was called) was solid. I enjoyed it.

Like how nVidia fixed it with Dirt Showdown? I doubt AMD will overtake nV in FB2 games, but it's alpha and that 35% deficit will stand. It will likely end up as it is now in BF3 with the 7970 being >10% slower (That's why it's cheaper).

That's just what I think.

6990 Looking good. No need to upgrade that. Dozer is looking impressive, it's not the 1st time either.

I know there's no SLI profile, but what you are seeing (the screenshot proves it) is dual GPU with one being underutilized. Thus you are basically running a single GTX 670 with the 690 (assuming the screenshot is showing a 690).

Anyway, it looks pretty decent.

Well from still screenshots, I can't really tell much difference between High Quality and Ultra:

High 1
Ultra 1

High 2
Ultra 2 (<-- Here the far building looks to have less jaggies, and vegetation is a bit different).

The performance increase by going to HQ from UQ is huge.

moh%201920.png

HD7970 HQ = 66 fps
HD7970 UQ = 45 fps (-32% performance hit)

GTX680 HQ = 83 fps
GTX680 UQ = 61 fps (-27% performance hit)

moh%202560.png

HD7970 HQ = 48 fps
HD7970 UQ = 31 fps (-35% performance hit)

GTX680 HQ = 58 fps
GTX680 UQ = 41 fps (-29% performance hit)

The 5870 certainly isn't a barn burner, but it still provides playable frame rates at 1080P in games coming some three years after it was released. Not too bad.

It’s too early to get anything meaningful out of these numbers, especially since neither vendor has optimized drivers for the game.

I’m personally looking forward to the game as I enjoyed MoH 2010, and this picks up where it left off.

Loved the first MOH for the SP and even a bit for the MP. The SP campaign was flawless in triple monitor, mostly because the default aspect ratio was so low...

That's a fair point. The performance won't be exactly the same, especially with 20 players on a map in multiplayer. However, the general trend of Kepler having an advantage in FB2 is likely to remain. Before BF3 launched, GameGPU.ru did BF3 Beta testing and GTX580 beat the 6970. This performance advantage over the 6970 carried into the final game as well. If anything, the final game became even more demanding:

BF3_1920_UQ.png

Even if AMD optimizes drivers, so can NV. 30-35% deficit is massive to make up from drivers alone, especially since HD5800/6900 and 7900 series of cards take a larger performance hit with MSAA in FB2/deferred MSAA game engines. This game is no different in that regard.

Here is a 3 min Developer Multiplayer Commentary video.
