McDonalds to slow eaters: GTFO

20 minutes, wow.
I am a fast eater, and even I can take more than 20 minutes eating if I'm really hungry and eating a lot.

I dunno, I usually take like 2-5 minutes to eat at McDonalds, it makes sense not to just let people sit there talking for 20+ minutes since there is no way you can need 20 minutes to eat no matter how fat you are.

I understand about no refill if you leave the property but I never know a place would set a time limit for its customers.

It would not work at any McD/BK/Wendy that near highschool.

How would they enforce this? Do they run to their surveillance footage and look at the time stamp to see when you placed your order?

Next to the sign in the OP there will be one that says: "Save your receipt to validate your length of stay. Thank you and enjoy your lunch."

As long as there are tables for people who want one, they won't say anything. I think it's more about the people who come in at 10:30 for lunch and sit there for hours with their buddies sucking down free refills, when people who want a table can't find one. So now when they want to kick these people out, they can point to the sign to justify why they are doing it.

There's a McDs nearby which I occasionally stop at. Sometimes at 5:30AM, sometimes at 9AM - yet the same people are always there. But it's not crowded inside for breakfast, so nobody minds.

Hahaha the no refills part is funny. When we lived next to Taco Bell my roommates and I would each buy one of the 64oz cups, and then bring it with us every time we went back.

Heh. I've always wondered why fast-food restaurants have the frickin air conditioning on even when it's cold out... same sort of idea I guess?

Probably to move out the old farts who come in, buy a 10 cent senior coffee and sit there all day. I don't know why anyone would want to loiter in a McD's any longer than possible. Just sitting there I feel like my whole body is getting covered in a fine layer of grease. Gross.

You guys don't realize that kids often use fast food places as hang outs. I go to a pizza shop where the kids are always swarming and they are regularly kicked out. Not hospitable for them (though they keep coming back), but much more hospitable for the other customers.

the local taco bell has a sign at the drink station saying For Sanitary reasons, You could only refill cups purchased at this visit.

Always wondered why, now I know

OP did you take this pic yourself?

Yeah, one of the employees saw me take the picture and made a comment that I'm going to sue them now.

the McDonalds near NIU and the highschool have signs like this. college kids would go to McDonalds and do homework and sit drinking pop all day.

finally they built one on NIU campus.

I think this is hilarious.

When it's pre-chewed / digested, as McDonald's food conveniently is, then all you have to do is swallow. No reason for you to linger past 20 minutes.

Did you tell them that you planned to post it on a message board full of nerds? 😛
