It would not work at any McD/BK/Wendy that near highschool.

How do you know where it is? But that's a good point - they probably put that sign up to get rid of loitering teenagers.

it's probably to have an excuse to chase out punk kids who buy a small soda and spend all day hanging out in the McD's.

I think this is hilarious.

When it's pre-chewed / digested, as McDonald's food conveniently is, then all you have to do is swallow. No reason for you to linger past 20 minutes.

with 2 kids in tow hitting the 20 minute time is actually easy.

They are like parking cops. Every 20 minutes they walk around and chalk the bottom of your shoes white. If you are still there 20 minutes later they will have the gumption to throw your ass out.

You must have absolutely no social life.

"Oh hey, sweet, a McDonalds......oh wait, they have a sign here about staying too long. And it's even laminated! That manager looks really tough and mean, too.
Come on, let's go hang out at the Walmart!

What? The ones near you don't chew it up and spit it in your mouth for you like you're a baby bird?
You're getting ripped off, man.

There is no specified maximum 'fucking about' time, so eat withing the 20 minutes, then do something else, like chat or make a phone call. No sign, no compliance. :p

or maybe I don't go to freaking MCDONALDS for a social type lunch, thats the whole point, they don't want people sitting there for an hour just hanging out. I mean to each his own, but when I eat at McDonalds its just for the FAST food not for the atmosphere.

It is always sad to go into one of those fast food places and see a geezer couple placidly eating what is obviously their intensely mediocre dinner or lunch, all the while reading the paper or otherwise lingering to prolong what must be the high point of their drab, dreary day.

When I was on my church planning committee, some members wanted to meet in a nearby Burger King. I made them choose a FAR more pleasant and better local place that wasn't as sterile and depressing, where the food was actually real and good, and which didn't cost ALL that much more anyway.

I bet this is a rogue franchisee (i'm guessing Indian) that is breaking corporate policy.

Seeing old people eat at McDonald's makes me really want to go to college. Talking to the old cashier at my CVS is what motivated me to write my college essays. She still follows the high school football games closely - she was a cheerleader in my town ~40 years ago.

Oh jesus, they're just being cheapskates.

These corporate types need to loosen their ties up a little.

This is not corporate doing this. In fact, if you were to report this franchise to corporate they would probably crack down on them for making this sign.

Might as well just through the happy meal right into the toilet.

If you must know, it's probably the first time I have been to McDonalds in over a year. It was convienient, and I had not eaten in a day. I got the southern chicken sandwhich.
