It's not like McDonald's is the only one that pays wages like that. I did see some McDonald's employees posting their own budgets to compare and yeah they're pretty screwed. Funny how when they spend $150+/mo for cable and phone though. Love to hear about people who say they can't make it as they dump $100/mo on their cell phone to check Facebook all day.

why costco?

they actually pay a decent wage

With such low prices and thin margins, it might be logical to expect Costco’s pay and benefits to be equally bare bones, but that’s one more way the company has defied common wisdom. Costco actually has among the highest pay scales in the industry — its employees earn an average of $20 an hour, and more than 90 percent get benefits, including health insurance. In reward, Costco has some of the lowest turnover rates in retail.

Its easy to have a decent average wage when you contract out your lowest paying jobs*

*There is some debate as to how many they actually contract out but its something to consider. That said I do think Costco is a much more employee oriented company than Walmart

This. No one here can speak for what they do with their contracting. Other than the fact that they do it and knowing that the CHEAPEST of the CHEAP employee's that work for Costco come from contracting, shut the fuck up worshiping them as if they are saints of corporate retail hiring 🙄

No-one is 'worshiping' anyone or anything. Costco was merely mentioned as an answer to this question:

is there any large corporation that you like?
