Mostly 40 s&w as of late. Unemployed at the moment so I cant afford rifle rounds even at old rates. Need a bolt action so that I can have a useful 25 round range session. Or a pistol caliber carbine. Or both... hmm

Workers will just take over the factories. They have the guns.

Wow, I missed this post. Who's paranoid now? Do you think it's easy to get into these places? Not even close, and definitely not with a firearm on you.

Are you trying to tell me that gun nuts can make a rational case?

The impetus of Moonbeam's argument: You can't argue for gun rights to him, because by the very act of doing that, you are revealing yourself to be a conservative. And conservatives by default possess brains that are irrational and fear driven. So you see, your rational argument cannot be rational, it isn't allowed. Quite circular if you ask me.

To be fair by defining them as a gun nut he's put them in a little box that they can't get out of and I think even gun proponents agree that gun nuts are irrational.

its not a spending issue its who should pay for it.

instaed of taxing the typically law abiding citizens . . why not tax the criminals. . you know, the ones you're protecting yourself from. put a tax on their drugs and guns... not mine! oh wait, that doesn't suit the agenda

BIG SCARY ASSAULT RIFLE deaths per year: we don't know, but it's fewer than 300 since thats the TOTAL rate with rifles.

HANDGUN deaths per year: greater than 10,000

HAMMER deaths per year: 300+

DRUNK DRIVING deaths per year: 10,000
Agenda found. . . .

Honestly, I'd rather states handle gun control than the feds. That way people who are against the second amendment can move to states like CA, MA, or NY.

With an ammo tax, what happens to people who reload their own bullets?

Along with taxing off the shelf ammunition they will put high taxes on powder, ignitors and new shell housings and any reloading tools one would need to purchase to be able to do your own reloads. You can only reload shells so many times before they can no longer be recycled.

Massachusetts is home to both Colt, Savage Arms, and Smith & Wesson. They produce over a million guns a year in Massachusetts. Hopefully they move to gun friendly states if it passes.

They can always relocate to Texas, we would love to have them here.

I'd gladly tax all of them out of the country, do you have a suggestion how to tax illegal drugs or violent criminals?

Hence a tax on guns & bullets

HAMMER deaths per year: 300+
I've never heard of a mass hammer attack

DRUNK DRIVING deaths per year: 10,000
Agenda found. . . .
And this is why bars & liquer stores in MA pay big money for liquer licenses. Plus the gas tax helps to police the roads.
I understand your point and I know we'll never agree

The problem, and you've seen it this month, is that state law can move very quickly--faster than Federal and they can have substantial implications, whereas the fed moves slower and dare I say--Dare I--with more consideration.

It's not reasonable at all for people to be expected to move every time their idiot leaders come up with some new laws they don't like.

Except you can drive across state lines and easily buy or have a friend buy for you. That isn't against the law.

It's not reasonable to punish millions of law abiding citizens for the actions of a few psychopaths.

I'm all for taxing drugs. Of course you have to legalize them first. Once drugs are legal, you'll have eliminated most of the crime that goes with illegal drugs.

This would be one of those core issues that gets ignored in the firearms conversation. More freedom, less violence.
