For all of you out there in a relationship, would you ever consider marrying your boyfriend/girlfriend? And if not, why are you continuing the relationship? Just wondering...

Anyway, companionship is nice, even if it is planned to be finite. Why make friends if they're going to die someday?

Actually I'm not with anyone at the moment, but friends and people my age are starting to get engaged/think about marriage, and I just wanted to know if any of you were dating someone or in a relationship even though there was no possibility of marriage in the future. I feel like, at a certain point, dating is just a means to get to that one person you want to spend the rest of your life with, so I guess I'm trying to understand the point in staying with someone you know you wouldn't want to marry.
Not sure. You'd think a fat chick would try to hang on to anything they can get just in case, but I'm arguing there's no point in staying in a relationship when there's no possiblity of marriage.
same reason i drive my POS car. it costs alot to feed it, get terrible milage out of it, my friend laugh whenever they see me with it, but it's better than walking.
So you're saying you'd rather stay in a relationship you know isn't going anywhere than be single? Pathetic.

There's 2 mindsets... but I don't subscribe to the 2nd one...
1) Date to find the person you see yourself marrying (common)
2) Date for sex/fun/companionship even though there is NO chance of staying with them.
A lot of people would say there's no point in the 2nd one, unless they just want a piece of @$$ or someone to go to the movies with once in a while. At the same time in this situation, you don't have the freedom to find the real one...
