The police didn't "attempt to murder innocent people." They made some really awful errors in judgment, but it's not as though they were intentionally shooting at innocents - they thought they were shooting at Dorner.
I don't condone holding police to a double standard, inf act I think they should be held to a higher standard. If I thought someone was breaking into my house and just started shooting at people on the sidewalk, would I be charged? I don't know, but given the justice system these days I likely would. And that's complete bullshit. Cops get too much support from the system and can get away with shit that would put average joes behind bars.

So cops go on massive manhunt after an ex-cop is targeting cops and their families. You have the cops who are trying to kill him completely recklessly attempting to murder 3 random innocent people and no one seems to care.

this is what amazes me.

I wish it amazed me, but it doesn't surprise me at all. These bad cops are just thugs with a badge and there are tons of them. I feel bad for the good cops having to work with them and having nothing they can do about it.

Well look like the 6 officers who were involved in at least one of the shootings are now on paid administrative leave.

If a civilian with a concealed carry permit were to shoot up an elderly woman's truck do you think an argument of mistaken identity would save them from being immediately arrested and charged?

And then the question is raised, why not a police officer?

Are they not held to a higher standard, trained and trusted to use all due diligence in upholding and enforcing the law?

They need to be made an example of.

Cops are actually held to a lower standard, mistakes like this are a-okay because apparently while they shoot at random people, they have the right intentions. Which make it acceptable.

also some reports have comments at the end. im shocked so many are backing the officers and blaming the lady's in the truck!

how they shouldn't been driving at that time, to not having lights on, to swerving etc.

/sigh.

Look at people defending the Del Taco beatdown by LAPD in ATOT. Some people will always make excuses and accept any sort of brutality as long as it comes from an authority figure. People like Stalin always have supporters, it doesn't matter how brutal the authority is. Also see abused women. It's a pretty sick mentality.

This is very true. If someone with a CCW or even just in their home was being attacked and tried to shoot the attacker, an imminent threat, and wildly shot and hit 3 people that person would be going to prison. These cops however can just randomly shoot up trucks and get paid vacations. They should be going to prison for this.

I'm waiting for the cops to kill someone that appears to look like Dorner

I have a friend that is the spitting image; black, build and bald.
jsut started working in SoCal.

Told him to stay out of LA area

If not; do not get into any truck.

I am surprised this is still going on; I figured they would have killed him by now.

He blows the whistle on a dirty cop, and turns in a large sum of money he found? It's hard to believe a person like that could go on to write a manifesto and commit murder.

yep, interesting story no doubt..

some are calling him a martyr..

I'd like to see the evidence he made false statements. That seems like a very hard case to prove, and all witnesses seems to corroborate his story. Plus what is the motive? It's got to be hard to come forward and do the right thing to rat out your colleague, apparently he's the type to do that (with the $8000 story)

I believe him, I know a lot will write off anything he said because he's shot and killed a cop and 2 other people. I wouldn't blame them I guess

I have really mixed feelings about this guy. The LAPD is a messed up police force that polices a messed up city. I hope that at the very least they really have a proper investigation and root out more scum from the force.

It's odd to not feel like he's a "bad guy" though. I'm going to go with innocent until proven guilty. The Police on the other hand have shot up innocent people trying to get him.
