I feel awful for the victim and family. Just so random, can't nor do I want to imagine what they are going through.

And since Canada doesn't have the death penalty, the taxpayers get to pay the costs of incarceration for the rest of this guy's life. Good job Canada.

Don't be silly.

(he'll only be in jail for 15-20 before getting parole)

We can easily afford it as we 1/10 the amount of people in prison per capita than the US because we don't have a BS war on drugs or stupid 3 strike rules

My gun's on belt, not in my luggage. Carrying an inaccessible firearm is pointless. I never ride DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) trains or buses without a sidearm. Of course, I never go anywhere without my sidearm. :)

Damn, that's cowardly.

Yes, defending someone's life while risking your own in doing so is such a cowardly act.

thank god for their strict firearm laws.

Yeah, sure helped the victim, didn't it?

instead of fleeing.. someone could of helped the victim. How many seconds does it take to pull out a gun and shoot some mental retard? How many minutes does it take to get outside of the bus, wait for a truck driver willing to get involved... wait for the truck driver to get wrenches and crobars, form a groups of "tool" armed men and get the perp?

Lets see, someone beside you is getting stabbed and head sliced off. You will be calm enough to CALMly take out our firearm from your luggage and shoot the person? Sorry buddy you are not SAS, Rangers or Navy seals. Try your firearm arguement elsewhere.

Can I please ride the bus with you?

I don't know. But to see all of the rest of the people on the bus running away to save their own necks must have been disheartening.

Instead of spending time on ATOT and using a crobar as a dildo, someone "could of" passed grade 4 English.

Who defended someone's life with their gun? Don't see that written anywhere.

More like ~9 years. Life is defined as 25 years, with most offenders getting off after serving 1/3rd of the sentence. It's also legally impossible to serve more than 2/3rds of your sentence.

However I don't really think this is a case for jails and the death penalty. It sounds like the guy would qualify as being legally insane.

Even without a gun, who sees someone getting stabbed and says, "Everybody, let's RUN!" Jesus christ, fight back people.

Right, because that's the obvious reaction when you're unarmed and you see some psycho stabbing the shit out of someone else's neck in a very confined space with a large knife.

Read the quoted post. See where it says "crobars"?

Good. Now STFU.

I know this sounds totally crazy but there are people in the world to train and prepare themselves with firearms just for situations like this (or the typical SHTF scenario) and could easily and (believe it or not) calmly pull out a pistol and end the entire encounter quickly. Although as stated the victim would probably be mortally wounded by then but if the attacker is dead there'd be no more victims would there now?

Texas, I want to move there just for the more lax gun laws. I've heard they're pushing for open carry, is it true? And what's your weapon of choice?

No; being afraid to leave your house without a gun is.

No, in Canada life is 25 yrs
After 15 years you get a faint hope parole hearing which very few ever get early release
Many do more than the 25 even because they don't qualify for parole

I love how you guys think someone should have pulled out a gun and started shooting at a crazed maniac on a bus full of people. You retards have watched too many action movies and played too many video games, you are not bruce willis or max payne.
