Jesus, I said you trolls/retards need to stop with this crap. Know what eminent domain is? If you decide to take your land by eminent domain, you get paid for it b/c you OWN it. And does not apply to people that rent land(house/apt), only the land OWNER.

correct. Though ED was never intended for a PRIVATE company to be able to say hey i want that land and have the government take it and give it to them. it was intended for roads, parks, etc.

Also since many states passed laws saying that ED could not be used to help a PRIVATE business they are now condemning the property then taking it. btw when they condemn it they pay far far less then market share. This is happening to houses and small business's that are in good shape and really have no reason to even suspect being condemned.

So in a sense Juror8 is correct. you don't own the land even though you paid for it. A big business wants it? they are going to get it. you may or may not be fully compensated for it.

but he is still bat shit crazy...

Right, Juror8 is correct, but he likes to argue and take comfort in the technicalities when there are obvious other issues to discuss. Like I said before, sounds intellectual on the surface, but no real world substance.

The condemnation thing - I'm sure our government offers adequate avenues to rectify such a situation. Government is constantly a work in progress. Good government is all about being able to improve on itself and to change with the will of the people through good old fashioned hard work. Good government is not about being perfect. It's never going to happen. Any that says it's perfect should immediately illicit red flags all over the place.

God, I'm sick of people that talk about property taxes as rent. It's not. Can the government, not renew the lease on your property and just 'rent' it to someone else if you've been paying your property taxes? No. So, it's not rent.

So many trolls/retards in this forum.

Ya, it's called Eminent Domain.

I know what eminent domain is and gave you the Supreme Court case that decided that the Government can take any property from you and then pay you what they consider to be fair value, not what you consider fair value. If you truly "owned" the land it could not be removed from your possession by fiat.

Who's the troll in this thread? Now go fuck yourself.

Juror No 8, I wish you the best of luck in finding a country that has all the rights and infrastructure of the US and where you can choose not to pay a dime to have full access to it. Because anything compulsory is stealing by the other party. And a system that holds true to the letter of whatever book defines its policies because room for interpretation is wrong.

LOL. "Rights". You live in a country where the government will throw you in a rape cage full of violent animals for doing nothing more than smoking a plant, and you think you have rights?

LULZ.

Last I heard there were more people in jail for marijuana related crimes than for violent crimes.

So if they all stick together they shouldn't have a problem not getting raped unless (OMG) pot smoking leads to rape.

You heard it here first folks. Pot makes people rapists.

Wow, talk about thread derailment. Yes, we have a government that has rights. Juror No 8 just doesn't agree with a particular law. Again he misses the entire point. I'm for marijuana legalization but I'm surely not going to say I don't have rights under my government just because I can't legally smoke all the herb I want. If anything this is a failure on the people's part to get this law abolished rather than a failure on the part of government.

Go find a country where there are inalienable rights yet no laws or taxes and report back.

Yeah me too, one day soon hopefully the last of the creepy stalinist 20th century regimes gets the squish soon themselves.

I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon. You know, I've been wondering whether a group like Anon could override the firewall and bring all this free information to the people, like dropping leaflets via airplane but virtual.

I mean, China has, what, a 4000-5000 year history? And look at where they are now (don't use money as your only metric). The ruling class has got a huge ingrained history of isolationism and feeling that they are superior to everyone else.

They built a Great Wall and now they have a big fucking firewall.

Yup. Galvanize the populace on some frivolous external bullshit so that they forget about the true bullshit right at home. Of course the government would use this tactic. It's up to the people to be smart enough to see through this, but really, all the cards are in the government's favor.

Our own government, as well as the political parties, do this as well and we sure as hell aren't smart enough to see through it.
