Makes you wonder if this was a good investment. Off the bat it sounds crazy, but he can tax people on his island, as well as mine and stuff. Apparently he can sell that crap for real money too. It would be shocking if he could pull a profit.

haha that'd be funny... It say's there are special areas for hunting and everything on his island...
I wonder if we could log on there and poach all his animals just to piss this guy off.
 
Who "owned" this "island" before this? The creators of the game? So you mean to tell me, they could model a mansion in the game and sell it off for real money??? Genius, there's plenty of people who'd spend money on stuff like that if the game's popular enough 😀
 
I hope he's super rich so this won't even phase him, but more than likely he took out a second mortgage eheh

what if i'm on his land huntingor doing whatever and get hurt? can i sue the virtual owner?

this is pretty ridiculous.



 
I think this is the game where you can convert real money for in-game money and vice versa. But don't take my words for it... check out the website.... I won't as I've been sucked into Wow.

But are you telling me the only way to get money in the game is VIA actual money? Killing things doesnt help you out there?

If you can obtain money in the game then its not such a big deal [Anyone remember castles in UO selling for 50~60 million, when a million was selling for $20~30 on ebay?]
 
Yeah... does anyone know if you can make money in other ways or do you have to use real money ?

Kind of retarded if you -have- to use real money to do anything...

It sounds like the game will let him sell 60 subdivision plots to other players for cash, so he make back his $26,000 from that, if he can find people willing to pay ~$450 each. Then I guess there are virtual mineral rights, whatever the hell that means.

So if the game doesn't tank in the next year or so it is entirely possible for him to make his money back plus some. Unless you count the time he's probably going to invest in which case he is losing out bigtime.
 
Alright, so he can sell 60 subdivisions of his island for money... that means though, he'll need to sell them for a minimum of $434 a piece. I'd rather buy some groceries, movies, or maybe a home theater receiver for that price instead of a virtual land plot.
 
Well, ten in-game dollars are worth one real dollar...
Earning thousands of dollars in Project Entropia is extremely hard, though. Developing a strong character in PE without real cash is almost impossible.
