Speed of light was exceeded at least once ;)

I don't know what it is, but it better be Morgan Freeman making the announcement.

Contrary to popular belief...the moon is NOT made out of swiss cheese? :hmm:

I'm guessing the discovery of a very Earth like planet somewhere else in the galaxy. Our count of planets outside the solar system has recently passed 1000...

Unless they:

Found alien life

or

Have a ship that can travel 100000's of lightyears in days

then, it's all hype and won't be that exciting, because they never are.

Sad, but true. In astrophysics "perhaps a chance to support life, we'll never know for sure if it ever did or ever will" is about the biggest news possible. Unless they pick up a light source that is blinking out prime numbers it's going to be a snooze.

Found oil on Uranus?

there are hydrocarbons on titan. doubt this would be it since it would not need a huge conference.

this says astrophysics so i doubt it has anything to do with life or organics.
