I think this is a funny thread, in that I am sure a bunch of the people that posted turn him in, have dl'ed music and have copied movies. Its not crackead and drugaddicts that buy dvd burners and dvd-rw's.

There's a big difference in downloading a movie and stealing one out of a mailbox.
It's like this: If I download a movie you own on DVD, you still have your movie and are able to use and enjoy it. But if I take the physical DVD you own, you lose the use and enjoyment of the movie.

Against the law is against the law, right DonVito.

You cant pick and choose what laws you are gonna follow right?

The laws on downloading are not concrete. RIAA and MPAA would have you believe this is illegal, but there hasn't been any definite decision on this yet, hence why the matter is before the Supreme Court. I believe like many do that unless you're taking a physical copy of something that would cost money to replace, it is not stealing. This is more like 'fair use' instead of stealing. Stealing implies taking something that is in the physical possession of someone else.

If you take a movie from BitTorrent or Kazaa, the physical movie remains where it is.
If you take a movie from Wal-Mart or wherever, you've stolen the physical movie.

Just as long as YOU can justify it.

There's no parody thread for this yet?

Isn't the mailman also stopping the interstate trade by holding the movies or some jazz like that?

Turn his a$$ in.

What matter are you talking about? The laws on downloading when you know that it is a copyright violation are fairly concrete and solid. The cases that tend to make it to the supreme court relate to the legality of file sharing networks or having copies of media in different formats when you own a legitimate copy of the intellectual property.

I'm not big on reporting stuff to authorities but this guy needs to be turned in. As others have pointed out, he is probably not only stealing netflix movies. This affects lots of people and this guy has a high-paying job to start with. If he wanted added income he should be selling Amway, lol.

report this thief!

I guess me and torpid agree on this.
You really need to pay attention to those big warning that come up at the beginnings of movies, you know the ones by the FBI.I know that you personally have not copied any DVD's as you would have to turn yourself in,otherwise you would be inconsistent.

If this hasn't yet been mentioned, report this crime to the USPS Office of the Inspector General (they investigate crimes/misconduct WITHIN) the USPS, where as Postal Inspectors deal with crimes outside the USPS organization.

He doesn't need to steal to buy "groceries and clothes for his sons."

I have respect for the hard work our postal employees do, but they are decently paid, and receive better benefits than I do, and my work is often very hard. I can't even afford health insurance.

What I have I have at least come by honestly, and I don't feel I deserve for anything of mine or yours to be stolen in the mail. So maybe it'll bother your conscience to intervene, but report this thief anyway!

This is the worst advice ever.
That being said, PM me his address and name, I'll turn him in for you because it could be MY movie rentals he's stealing.

They are all just theoretical snitches. So far I'm the only *actual* snitch. The next time you have to wait a week or two for a netflix DVD, I'm sure you'll come around to my way of thinking.

It takes about the same amount of time to send an email with a link to someone as it does to post here. I think I can spare that amount of time. Apparently so can you, since you posted in this thread.

I belong to a competing DVD rent by mail plan and have had at least 10 DVD never arrive over the last year! I have come to the same concolusion that someone in the US Postal service is stealing them! It really PISSES ME OFF when my DVD do not arive! I would report him in a heartbeat!!!! This is really STUPID too. He will lose his job if not from you by someone else!! This guy deserves what he gets!!!

What he's doing is obviously wrong and he's an idiot for even chancing it. Especially since he's supporting kids in a single parent home. With that said, I could not bring myself to turn him in knowing how severe the repercussions will be. If he get's caught, so be it. He got what he deserved. But I would not make it my place to get involved. just my 2 cents

You need to report him. It is federal offense. He will get pink socked by his new cell block roomy!
