That is a myth, because Windows 2k & XP is quite stable, and if it act up that much then it is in need of service.

Her machine is running win 2k and has been serviced NUMEROUS times by computer systems adminstrators here. None can seem to fix the problem.
The problem, pyonir, is clearly evident based on the first word of your response :)

Trust me. It isn't.

Maybe some people like it? Why do you give a crap what type of computer other people buy? Do you go around telling other people "What, you date black women? What a retard!" or maybe "You wear boxers and not breifs? What an idiot!" If other people want to buy a computer that you don't particularly car for, does that entitle you do scream insults at them?

From anybody else I'd appreciate your point here and agree that I'm being a stickler. But not from you, notfred. How many threads do you start condeming the innocuous actions of others? Those in glass houses...

I'd say I'm right probably only 2/3 of the time or maybe 3/4 of the time :)

Trust me, they don't. In the graphics studio where I work, we have top of the line mac's. I've worked on dual Xeon's too. As far as graphics go, the Macs kick ass.

Mac are great.

So are PCs.

Maybe someday, when Mac-haters shut their mouths and open their eyes, they will realize that.
When Macs run more than 3 applications get back to me. When Macs are not a super huge ripoff get back to me. In fact when Macs are as good as PCs get back to me. :)

OK, what apps do you want to run?

Web Browser? check
Microsoft Office? check
FTP? check
IRC? check
Newsreader? check
CD burning? check
MP3 player? check
Microsoft Media Player? check
Business Finance software? check
Macromedia Studio? check
Every Adobe product made? check
Anti-Virus? check

Should I continue?

My 4 year old PC has all the same software, but I can use two mouse button's and a scroll whell with it.

AAAHHHH!!! I just configured a mac for over $13 grand. Man, you could buy a car for that... but no car would have dual 23 inch cinema displays...

Wow, this guy made a liar out of me. and that was last year. but you're entitled to your opinion. our company's customers could care less which system their videos/photos were generated on. i just care about the bottom line, and getting my $$'s worth.

I don't like macs though :) Well they are pretty at least.

microsoft should be kicking themselves for making plus pack a costly addon and limited to using microsoft only themes.

if they had made it open like winamp there would be a huge community support xp skins by now i bet. now its a real pain to bother with.

i wouldn't mind a g5, just dont have the moolah right now:)

Ummm... Macs can use two mouse buttons and a scroll wheel. Try plugging in an Intellimouse. I use one every day at work.

for a pc user, how long do you think it'd take to get used to the osX? i like macs mainly because they are pretty, but i think PCs are more versatile.

I'd get a Mac, except:

1) I could get 3 PCs instead.
2) There are about 3 games that work on the mac.
3) I go anywhere to download software on the internet and it says "for windows"!!
