Very disapointed reading multiple reviews. The phone is big and bulky like I feared. Worse yet the camera is very average in lighted situations. I just hope that it can be fixed with firmware. There has to be an software/firmware issue as the camera takes epic pictures in low light. It is going to be hard decision this or a nexus 4. Want to hold it in person first.

I don't really care about the soft camera, it only looks bad to me when comparing side-by-side with another phone. If I care about IQ for a photo, I'll take it with my DSLR. The heft will be a nice change of pace from what I'm currently carrying. Screen is getting really high marks, performance looks great, wireless charging is the bee's knees even if it is slightly slower.

Overall, looks like my next phone. Them throwing in a free wireless charger, if true, is only costing them $30 extra from me. 🙂

Wireless charging is ok, it's not that great. I use it for my tablet and apart from the geek factor i could live without it.

I think its more than ok, its the future. But granted, not absolutely necessary (which applies to almost every function in a smartphone). Since its Qi standard you can get any charger that complies with it and the prices arent too bad. Amazon has some pretty cheap ones. Get 4 of them, and put one on your desk, night table, car & work. You could attach a NFC tag to them so that when you put it on the night table it activates/opens the alarm clock or in the car the music app or the navigator. Cool stuff.

Nice price, really aggressive. I'll have to go with Samsung or HTC on Verizon though; the 822 might still be worth a look I suppose.

The ATIV hasn't gotten nearly as much attention as HTC or Nokia's offerings but it doesn't look like it's a slouch of any sort, just not as eye catching without the color. I'll definitely consider it, though it's just a bit bigger (albeit thinner) and I'm not necessarily fond of "bare" metal on devices.

Crazy deal with the Lumia at $99. I'm actually in the process of moving away from Verizon and contracts in general but this is really tempting.

I'm just not sure if it's worth locking myself for 2 years.

I too am eyeing the Samsung ativ but I nerd a thorough review.

That reminds me is there a windows phone store I can browse through without a windows phone? I was wondering what apps I use have no windows phone version so I could compare my usage.

I'm so thinking of getting one... I really like its features. $99... but I don't want to be stuck with att. I'm using straight talk currently and it's ok so far. $599 for it out right... which is similar to the cost of an international note 2.

i think the polycarbonate is maybe the best design for phone, it makes then nice and rigid but not crackable or dentable

And since it's all color and not paint, when it's scratched, it's not noticeable as say... a Galaxy Nexus when it's scratched, you have a white/greyish mark on your device.

Polycarbonate is great in that sense. 😀

I agree there I don't like cases on my phones. The weight is fine by me personally. Just wish the phone was a little narrower and shorter. The thickness is because of the camera so that is a trade off willing to live with.

OT but I was reading anouncement at other sites and like usual anything about the 920 starts massive flame wars. What is it about this phone that pisses off android and iphone fan boys so much?

I am still debating between this and the nexus 4. The 920 is the phone my wife wants badly. She takes lots of pictures with her phone and with a 920 she could do video.

It's not android or iphone. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't 😛

Plus everyone hates Microsoft since they're 'corporate'.

Erm, it's not the phone, and it's not the Apple/Android people -- it's the pre-emptive hypetrolling of the Nokia/MS supporters. Really noticeable at, say, The Verge, and thankfully absent here at AT. Truly a bizarre phenomenon.

It's funny how defensive people are about Nokia over at WP Central. If you say one negative thing about the phone the Nokia Defense Squad comes rushing in claiming you must be a biased HTC fanboy.

With as little market share that Windows Phone has you'd think that you'd try and rally together and forget the differences and be happy that anyone is buying into the platform.

$599 if you buy it from Best Buy (which always overcharges unsubsidized phones), but only $499 if you get it direct from AT&T (and I would assume similar pricing for Amazon). Plus, you should be getting a free wireless charger, a $99 value.

Oh snap snap? Really? I'm gonna buy from straight up from ATT then.
