LSU fan here. Honestly, we deserved to lose this game. There were several blown plays, but how do you NOT blitz Casey Dick on 4th and 10??? We have squeaked by all season long, and the injuries and poor coaching have caught up to us. I won't argue that we deserve anything. We don't...

Oh well, maybe we can win the SEC at least. In the meantime, I'll cheer for a Kansas vs W. Va. MNC.

That whole backfield of Arkansas' is full of studs. Even the QB made solid plays when he needed to. And how about that D call by Ark. on the last play... bring everyone and force the QB to make a quick read. For whoever says Ark had questionable coaching this year they have to agree with that call.

Edit: Btw, for the record.... that game was incredible. I watched the whole thing at work and it's probably the best game I've seen this season.

No shit LSU doesn't belong in the title game, I never said they did, in fact i explicitly said they DIDN'T. There is a difference between WANTING them in the game and thinking they deserve to be there which some people here do not seem to get. That being said, I don't think that WVU or Kansas are any better. I am not advocating a system where we just pick the best teams out of our asses, that is exactly what I am arguing against, teams should play each other to prove who is better, not be picked by some committee.

LSU lost to a team (2 teams actually) that they had no business losing to with the talent they have. If you agree that they don't deserve the NC appearance then why are you complaining?

a few thoughts -

yes, the SEC is a great football conference, but lets be realistic - LSU is very talented, but I just don't see the 'freakish SEC speed' when I watch them - they ran their QB 10 times, and he's no running QB - their leading rusher is certainly one of the slower RB's of any top 40 team, and their starting safety looks like he runs at MAC conference speed - I love their LB's, and their D line ( though I've seen about 10 really stupid penalties on their DE's this year, late hits and such) - honestly, other than that return guy who is a track star, I'm not seeing a ton of team speed - Florida's team last year looked much faster than this team. Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Tenn, Ark - these are all very good teams, but I'm not sure they are heads and shoulders above other teams.

Why did Arkansas run a crap set of plays when they got the ball back in regulation? 49 seconds, ball near midfield, 1 timeout, and they basically did nothing - could have won the game with 15-20 yards and a FG, and avoided the overtime - good game to watch though.

I would love to see USC play LSU or Florida in a bowl game this year btw.

Before everyone piles on with the "West Virginia doesn't belong in the title game' stuff - remember they beat up Georgia in a bowl game last year.

I think Missouri is going to beat Kansas, then lose to Oklahoma (again), and we will be looking at W.Virginia vs Ohio State for the championship game - I don't think those are the two best teams in the country, but the system is what it is.

Wow that was a good game. This could be the best College Football season ever overall. Very refreshing after 5+ years of undefeated teams. Will there ever be a season with more upsets than this season? I gotta think not.

LSU is one of the most undisciplined teams in the country. They never did deserve to be in the MNC game.
