The point is that it is an ENGLISH show. Was this show made for a Korean audience or an ENGLISH one? If you cant separate these two things you have bigger problems than that.

I totally understand it's an english show and it's geared towards americans.
But this is america it's going to have people from different countries etc.... watching this show.
Hell I'm pretty sure a lot of koreans in Korea watch this show as well.
They could've done a better job with casting..... if they were going to have people speaking different languages.

D00d, you cant seriously be this much of an ass. Koreans are less than 0.5% of the population. Do you think that in an ENGLISH speaking country, with an ENGLISH speaking populace, and an ENGLISH speaking casting director that Koreans, <0.5% of the population, should be catered to so that the "koreans" on TV are "authentic?" Fuck man, you have problems. Were you adopted by a wealthy white couple?

i'm late to the party here, but i just wanted to support isekii's POV. it's frustrating when american shows don't vie for authenticity when portraying other cultures (and Lost is hardly the worst offender). it makes us look arrogant as well as ignorant.

it was pretty amusing, however, to see homercles337 flip out with no provocation.

I'm also late to the party, but I'd like to point out to homerdouche that Jin learning English is a key theme in his marriage to Sun. It shows how he is growing as a man and as a husband. He was kind of a dick when they first got married. If he was speaking English the whole time well, they couldn't have that as a theme now could they?

I'm also late to the party, but I think it's more amusing how isekii has his panties in a bunch over this. Just enjoy the show guys. You don't hear me complaining over how Sayid's Iraqi dialogue doesn't match his english or that they have an Indian actor playing the part. Who gives a crap? There are more important things to analize/argue over this show than the languages that 95% of viewers don't give a crap about. Besides, they have excellent actors playing the foreign parts so I don't give a sh!t where they're from.

i'd hardly categorize isekii's comments as coming from someone who has his panties in a bunch. Lost is a detail-oriented show - people pick apart every scene, every piece of dialogue... why is it suddenly irrational to say that it's dissapointing that some of the korean actors don't actually speak proper korean? how many times have i heard some nerd mention that programming, math, OS's, physics, etc aren't realistically represented in movies and TV?

if we forget about the cares of every 5% subset of the population, then pretty soon you're left with homogenized crap.

Maybe I'm late to the party, but I couldn't give 2 shits about proper accents. What I want to know is WHAT THE FUCK IS THE BLACK SHIT ON THE ISLAND? WHO THE FUCK IS BEN, REALLY? WHY DOES THE ISLAND HAVE MAGICAL HEALING PROPERTIES!?

Seriously guys.

You are all missing the fact that time on the island is behind time on the outside. I think Jin makes it off the island somehow and then dies.

I don't think that's the case here though. Jin and whatshername were married a lot longer than 2 months before getting on the island. I believe.

I believe thats correct but i dont see the correlation. We know Jin dies at some point. His tombstone was not on the island. Sun had her baby. So we know its a flash forward 100%. The date on the tombstone could be a lie as well. He may die on the island, and when the 6 are rescued hes brought back and buried but with the scandal of the fake plane they say he died on the crash.

Also i believe the captain was referring to that Ben created the fake crash in order to not be found. Not Pennys dad.

Yeah, the scenes off the island with Jin were obviously flashbacks. Also I believe just because there is a tombstone doesn't mean there's an actual body (could be just a monument built for him) so we don't know yet if Jin is considered part of the six. Well in fact the episode itself doesn't mention at all he is one of the six so there is one other I think out there. It's whoever is in that coffin we saw Jack visit a few seasons ago? Sawyer? Locke?

I doubt it was Locke or Sawyer. Both of them seemed pretty dead set on not leaving the island. In a coffin was probably the only way you could get Locke off that island. I'm wondering if it's Rose. . .maybe she leaves the island and her cancer comes back.

Hmm.. I don't think it's Rose. The episode made it clear there wasn't anyone, family or friend, that came to visit the casket so it reminded me of either Sawyer or Locke.

I finally got around to watching the episode today while home for lunch.

My general Lost routine is as follows:

1) Watch episode of Lost
2) Visit ATOT weekly Lost episode thread for insights, opinions, theories, etc.
3) Head explodes
4) Repeat the following week.

This season so far:

7 episodes + a helicopter & a boat = everyones still on the freaking island

Ben: I'll answer all your questions
Locke: What's the monster, the black smoke monster?
Ben: I don't know [gee thanks for the insight]

Every relevant "other" (Juliet, Ben, etc) has now given "their word" about 10 times and every single time has lied, and everyone still takes them seriously when they "promise this time it's the truth".

An asteroid needs to hit this island and kill everyone. I've been watching from day 1 and will till it's finished but I never recommend to anyone that they start watching.
