wow that was as GREAT episode!

ok so im guessing that Penny's dad staged the whole airplane thing in the water w/the 300+ dead bodies, and I'm guessing he got those bodies from Ben and they were the bodies that were there from when he poisoned everyone.

but that is about as much as i could make.

one thing that's wack about this as a Korean American watching this show.

the "so called Koreans" they got on this show speaking korean are some of the worst I've heard.
The shop owner that sold the panda bears didn't even sound like he spoke Korean properly.
The old guy at the hospital that came out I believe was Chinese.
Jin can't even speak Korean properly.

Sun is the only one that speaks Korean.

So Sun called out for Jin, even though he was dead... interesting. That is the 2nd time I can recall someone mistakenly speaks of a dead person as if they were alive.

The other time was the flash-forward with Jack, saying something about his dad - a nurse reminded him he was dead.

This actually brings more proof to my theory that they are altering their pasts to correspond to their new futures due to time travel. These "old" memories are "new" to them, so they are getting confused.

That's not the point. If they're going to have them speak korean, get some that speak and sound good not someone that sounds like a retard.

We still don't know who the Oceanic 6 are.
Without Jin, since the tombstone said 9/22/2004, we are left with only 5 for sure:
Kate, Jack, Hurly, Sayiid, and Sun.
If Aaron is not an Oceanic 6'er we need one more.

Aaron is an Ocean 6 member.

The episode he was discovered to be Kate's child, it was mentioned in commercials beforehand that the fifth member would be revealed.

And it was mentioned before this episode the 6th member would be revealed.

maybe they're the best they could get in Hawaii? I doubt they're importing actors who have 1 line.

I totally understand it's an english show and it's geared towards americans.
But this is america it's going to have people from different countries etc.... watching this show.
Hell I'm pretty sure a lot of koreans in Korea watch this show as well.
They could've done a better job with casting..... if they were going to have people speaking different languages.

The writers are a tricky bunch to this show eh? One, they are pulling off some crazy characterization this season, really getting in touch with the 'drama' aspect of the show. Two... holy hell they are tricky with these flash forwards and flashbacks. The whole show I was completely sold that Jin and Sun was still alive and well and she was having a baby. As I'm sure most were. :)

Anybody think there is any importance to September 22, 2004 in the time line of the show? That was the day of death marked on the tombstone. Usually the show has all these built in clues that most overlook, but are there for the diehards. Anyone got any ideas?

wait - was just reading Lostpedia... September 22, 2004 was the date the plane crashed.
WTH? Is the official story of the six - for what reason though - exactly as Jack described it during that trial?
This is getting even weirder...
and ugh.. so easy to get lost on lostpedia  so much stuff, and so much information that almost nobody except people who analyze the show pick up on. lol
like people use audio software to determine what all the whispers are saying that you hear a lot in the background. crazy.

The old guy at the hospital was in fact Chinese, because that was all a flashback, and was a Chinese hospital (me thinks?), because Jin was buttering up the Chinese due to company relations.
That's what I got out of it. As far as what language... I can't tell apart the languages or the ethnicities of the characters, or real life people. Sorry. :) ;)
So I can't be offended, but it's expectable... speaking a language that you naturally don't speak, unless you've practiced for years, tends to be difficult to pull off sounding like a natural speaker.

Your memory can sometimes suppress the bad things in life, and when your in an altered state of mind.. you can forget these things, because somethings are so ingrained in your head from normal routine. Remember, Jack was drunk. Sun was in the process of passing out from sedation. She even mentions later in the episode that her doctor told her she had done that... she's supposed to have not remembered doing it personally, because she was drugged.

I think it was suppose to a Korean hospital. When Jin was buying the Panda, if you looked at all the street and store signs they were in Korean. Even the cab said ?? which means Taxi in Korean.

The nurse or doctor or whatever was there also spoke Korean.

I can look at those signs all day long and never know what language they are alluding to. ;)
I know they are all symbols, but there are so many symbols for the assorted Eastern Asian languages that well... give a white guy a break eh? ;) I apologize for my ignorance, and I've met many people of assorted Eastern Asian backgrounds and they laugh but then kind of protest and argue that there are significant differences in the looks. I don't buy it. lol Just being honest here. Hope it's not offensive. Sure you've heard it before. :)

Jin's tombstone said 9/22/2004 - the day of the plane crash......

did he stay back? pretending he is dead ? (so others cant find him, maybe there are more survivors)

Jin is dead because his tombstone said he is dead.

From what I saw, the first one was a flash forward and the last a flash back.

All I know I am not buying that these are the only survivors. In typical Lost fashion, nothing known at one point in time can be accepted as the full answer, especially when there are over 2 seasons worth of episodes left. Surely there is more to all of this then they are suggesting, or they are purposefully laying hints to suggest they got grander plans.

D00d, you cant seriously be this much of an ass. Koreans are less than 0.5% of the population. Do you think that in an ENGLISH speaking country, with an ENGLISH speaking populace, and an ENGLISH speaking casting director that Koreans, <0.5% of the population, should be catered to so that the "koreans" on TV are "authentic?" Fuck man, you have problems. Were you adopted by a wealthy white couple?

Hell if I knew some different languages such as Spanish or German or whatever else, and they were butchering it up like they are doing it now with some of the other actors I'd be saying the same thing.

creativity overrides authenticity - welcome to film making
the casting crew either did not care for authenticity in the first place, which doesn't bother me, it's a fictionalized serial drama. Or, they went the creative direction first and preferred the character acting of the characters they chose. And also, for extras, cheap and effective is better. And who knows, these could very well be people (the extras) that are american-_____ and are rusty on their native language, or were rarely exposed to the language of their ethnicity, or have no relation to the ethnicity they are portraying. Fact remains, authenticity is not the ultimate goal for a fictional tv show.
Come on, you're going to pick apart the languages, of all things? There have been other inconsistencies, or at least apparent inconsistencies (these writers are a tricky bunch, that's for sure... keep taking turns no one expects from time to time and eventually revisit things that actually reference earlier things), throughout the history of the show, as well as some occasional bad acting from the english-speaking actors, and other small things. It's a tv show among all else, the least important hollywood creation, with tv movies and then full hollywood pictures as things that have a higher importance for budget and other things.

picking apart little things is just getting way to judgmental, and if bothers you, you CAN turn the channel. Otherwise, accept it and move on. Enjoy the show. :p
