one thing that's wack about this as a Korean American watching this show.
the "so called Koreans" they got on this show speaking korean are some of the worst I've heard.
The shop owner that sold the panda bears didn't even sound like he spoke Korean properly.
The old guy at the hospital that came out I believe was Chinese.
Jin can't even speak Korean properly.
Sun is the only one that speaks Korean.
Subtitles FTW.
Hint: Its an ENGLISH show.
That's not the point. If they're going to have them speak korean, get some that speak and sound good not someone that sounds like a retard.
The point is that it is an ENGLISH show. Was this show made for a Korean audience or an ENGLISH one? If you cant separate these two things you have bigger problems than that.
I totally understand it's an english show and it's geared towards americans.
But this is america it's going to have people from different countries etc.... watching this show.
Hell I'm pretty sure a lot of koreans in Korea watch this show as well.
They could've done a better job with casting..... if they were going to have people speaking different languages.
D00d, you cant seriously be this much of an ass. Koreans are less than 0.5% of the population. Do you think that in an ENGLISH speaking country, with an ENGLISH speaking populace, and an ENGLISH speaking casting director that Koreans, <0.5% of the population, should be catered to so that the "koreans" on TV are "authentic?" Fuck man, you have problems. Were you adopted by a wealthy white couple?
How am I being an ass...
I'm merely point out some of the flaws and saying how they could've/should've done a better job at casting.
Hell if I knew some different languages such as Spanish or German or whatever else, and they were butchering it up like they are doing it now with some of the other actors I'd be saying the same thing.
You seriously got some issues if you're this upset about me bring up some of the issues with the show.
creativity overrides authenticity - welcome to film making
the casting crew either did not care for authenticity in the first place, which doesn't bother me, it's a fictionalized serial drama. Or, they went the creative direction first and preferred the character acting of the characters they chose. And also, for extras, cheap and effective is better. And who knows, these could very well be people (the extras) that are american-_____ and are rusty on their native language, or were rarely exposed to the language of their ethnicity, or have no relation to the ethnicity they are portraying. Fact remains, authenticity is not the ultimate goal for a fictional tv show.
Come on, you're going to pick apart the languages, of all things? There have been other inconsistencies, or at least apparent inconsistencies (these writers are a tricky bunch, that's for sure... keep taking turns no one expects from time to time and eventually revisit things that actually reference earlier things), throughout the history of the show, as well as some occasional bad acting from the english-speaking actors, and other small things. It's a tv show among all else, the least important hollywood creation, with tv movies and then full hollywood pictures as things that have a higher importance for budget and other things.
picking apart little things is just getting way to judgmental, and if bothers you, you CAN turn the channel. Otherwise, accept it and move on. Enjoy the show.

I love the show and it's creativity and I totally get what you're saying. (Creativity is very important... It's a major reason why I'm still watching this show).
Also it's not that it bothers me per say. It's just something I'm pointing out that they could've done better at.
I mean I'm allowed to have my own opinion about the show right ?
Without some lunatic like homercles337 jumping down my throat about my critique on certain aspects of the show.
