the last they were seen was when Ben and his daughter left for the radio tower to intercept Jack and Naomi from contacting the freighter. I believe Ben told them to head for the "Temple".

The kid is already somewhat old for a baby kate would have had 9 months since.

Are you forgetting "Giant Walt"?

I just listened to the podcast by one of the writers and he pretty much said Kates' Aaron is Claires child.

But the writer clearly left open the mystery of whether Aaron was one of the Oceanic 6.
He did say that for the first time something that is important to the show and was out before it was on the show. He said we should watch the orientation film for the Orchid station. He said we would see the Orchid video later on the show.
Here it is if you don't wan tto wait:

I don't recall but if you go to abc.com and find Lost it is there.

my money's on death, but maybe that's a red herring.

If they have to transport via Helicopter, I'm sure that it is possible that there was only room for "one more" or who knows. A UFO abducted Aaron and gave him to Kate once on the mainland. It's Lost so my theory is as logical as anyone else's.

It should have ended with season 3. That would have been the sopranos style ending, but in a good way. Season 4 is really scraping the bucket.

Wow, you guys really help fill me in to little details I miss.
I thought I heard the kid's name was Eric, and due to the blonde hair I immediately thought it was Kate and Sawyer's kid.
I wonder what Jack knows/thinks.. does he think it's her and Sawyer's kid, and thus doesn't really want to see the kid? Or, does he know it's Claire's kid and doesn't want to be reminded of her likely not making it off the island?

And what's up with the story of 8 surviving the crash at first? Are there actually more than 6 survivors but they are somewhere else?

There are a number of possibilities:

1. Kate had Sawyer's kid and named it Aaron in honor of Claire's kid.
2. Kate took Aaron as her own because Claire was killed.
3. Claire gave Aaron to Kate because Kate was able to leave the island and Claire was not.
4. Kate stole Aaron from Claire.

As for Jack's story, it was completely fabricated. From the scene in the parking garage after Kate signs the deal with the DA, we learned that this is not the first time Jack has told the story. My guess is that the "Oceanic 6" made up a story about what happened on the island so that people would not ask questions as to why only 6 of them made it off and the rest were left behind.
Im guessing he made that story up to either: protect the people that stayed on the island because they did not want to return to the real world, or to hurt the other survivors for some sort of betrayal (if he said there were still survivors they would keep trying to find the island to save them)

I've had an obsession with her since the show began. Amazing body, exactly what I'd want in a women. Now to seduce her some how. Waking up to that would make every day the best day ever.

shocked is one way to describe it
very excited is another

BTW, after watching The Orchid Station video, holy hell what is going on with this island? They were freaking out when that second rabbit appeared, and I noticed why right away: same bloody number on the rabbit. Is the island, through the casimer effect (how that phenomenon comes into play here...), able to reproduce/clone living animals? Why is the bunnies the only thing to be effected, and not the humans?

And in that token, is the smoke monster some kind of run-away chain-reaction experiment? If they are working with large magnetic fields (this was brought up in Season Two, in the Swan Station iirc, if that is indeed the one that got destroyed), and now apparently the casimer effect, and all tying into with what they describe as 'unique properties of the island'... WTH was DHARMA doing?

Maybe the polar bear fossil they found has something to do with these experiments?
This show just keeps getting crazier and crazier.

TRUTH. Kate... so hot.

My wife and I were commenting that the actress (Evangeline Lilly) definitely has "classic" beauty. She looks good even without makeup on the island, but really blows you away when she's "done up".

She's a model turned actress, discovered by JJ Abrams, I thought?

I just saw this episode over the weekend... It was the worst of the season, it was the first time I've seen the ending coming a mile away. :(

Look at 1:10 on that video. There are other parts of it, but this would be the most important. If you pause it and scroll through it you'll find there is a fram that says "God loves you as he loved Jacob"... wtf is that about? Around 1:43 there is an upside down shot of someone riding a bike in what looks to be the little town that the others lived at.

That would've really pissed me off. There's a ton of stuff to be answered still, and while they keep introducing new things they do chip away at answering things. There is a set end date of the series so I think it should (I'm hoping) play out nicely and wrap up by the end.

Yeah, that Orchid video is wild. The part where the scientist is so concerned not to have the 2 rabbits touch seems intersting. And if Carleton and Damon Lindeloff say to pay attention to to the video, it must be important.
Apparently we will see the video this season on the tv show.

So the island created a duplicate of Flight 815 or whatever. They are all alternate versions of themselves?

Probably not. If they were duplicates the helicopter pilot wouldn't have noticed the difference and called attention to the fact that the "found" Oceanix 815 was a fake.

I liked how the physicist showed that time was possibly split somehow with that timer thing. Jeremy Davies is a cool actor.

The 6th person better be Sawyer :D

maybe they get duplicated without jewelry?

what if the Oceanic 6 are actually the 6 who were duplicated on the island at one point and made it off? In the alternate reality that the island presents to the world, maybe the island duplicated the plane and had it in the ocean?
or wait, better yet... the island, after the crash, duplicated the entire plane and that plane crashed in the ocean, with all the passengers in it (minus jewelry?), and the island has the ability to duplicate something on the island to anywhere in the world, and at any time? Thus explaining the polar bear fossil and, wasn't there an adam and eve pair found that suggested a long time had passed?
the whole time difference between things on and off the island is one strange fact, coupled with the plane underwater with the pilot missing his ring.... hmm.
(not to mention, maybe I'm looking into things too far.. but the human body also cannot stay intact, in water, for a long period of time. The gases in the body would expand and the entire body would bloat and want to reach the surface. Chains cannot hold down a body underwater, as the body bloats and becomes extremely buoyant, and ...mushy. The buoyancy is so much that it rips the body from restraints, even if that means severing the body where its restrained. Seat belts couldn't contain a body submerged for a hundred days, at all. Is this a suggestion that the plane was placed there very recently? Or just a production issue where they completely forgot about that little fact, or for sake of story (that guy isn't the pilot I knew, no ring)? I'm betting the latter but if the former.. would be really interesting.

I'm wondering if it's gonna be Locke. That's be interesting to see what his character does in the future. I mean, Sayid turning into a contracted assassin for Ben was a crazy turn of events I never saw coming. Surely they will have something crazy in store for the 6th person. But the writers were apparently not ready to confirm that Aaron was the 5th, even though they confirmed it was Claire's baby. So... ? Do we have two more to go still? Are they suggesting Ben was the fifth if not Aaron? Was anyone else revealed?
And didn't they show what was possibly Ben's obituary at the end of Season 3 in the first flash forward? It was a real life name that Ben's name came from, but Jack went to the funeral showing, of which no one had shown up too. It could be one of his multiple identities he had (all those passports...), and no one showing up would make sense since everyone despised the man. So, if that's the case, wonder what could have ended up happening to Ben?
And whatever happened to Walt in all of this? He's supposedly been off the island before, although I wonder if he was merely being kept with the others? I'm wondering if they are completely just forgetting about Walt, or will write in some kind of event that whisks him away permanently.. just due to the issue of preserving the image of his age, since the boy playing Walt has in real life aged and grew significantly during the shows production history. That's the problem of having a multi-year series with young actors, and keeping the shows time-line down to about 1/3 of a year thus far.
