I don't like how the Iraqi guy had an Ikea cup in his hand when he was eating the food Sayid cooked. Why? Because I have 2 of those Ikea glasses sitting in front of me. They cost 50 cents each.

Well, this episode did tell us a couple of definite things.
1) the "Others" were on the island well before the Dharma people

3) the Dharma people did not want the "Others" to control the Flame station
It's not really Locke's character for him to do something that screws up the story, so I agree with OrganizedChaos. Although, he does have a knack for destroying those Dharma stations. While blowing up the Flame did prevent ABC from filming on a new sound stage (the cave in S1, the hatch in S2), it's going to hurt the "Others" the most. I doubt the Others would have left any portable sat phones lying around inside, so I don't think there was much to find inside.

So Sayid lets Patch live, but would have easily put a bullet into Bens's chest last year in the hatch. Soooooo .... what changed all of a sudden ???

Which "others" are you referring to? The ones Patchy called "the hostiles"? Because I consider the people who captured Jack, Kate, and Sawyer the "others", and Patchy is one of them. Are you saying you think these people aren't the original Dharma people? If so, wouldn't you think the outside world Dharma folks would've figured out that these people aren't their's, and would stop dropping food and supplies to them? It makes sense to me that the "hostiles" would be people other than the Dharma people on the island, such as the airplane survivors, Rousseau and her team, and other random people that somehow make their way to the island. Thus the irony of Locke pushing the buttons for infiltration by the hostiles (Locke, Sayid, and Kate).
I thought this was a great episode. We found out how the Others communicate with the outside world, and how they order in food/supplies. Locke was typical Locke. He's gone from tough, smart badass to incompetent idiot before. This station could've really helped them out, as Sayid was also a communications officer and could have possible repaired the communications station. Oh well.
The next ep. looks good, too. The electric fence scene reminded me of Jurassic Park.

Hmm, I see where you're going. My interpretation was that the Others are the hostiles and separate from the Dharma people. Patchy would then have been pretending to be a Dharma person when he is actually an Other.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, Dharma=Others does make more sense, but if he had been there for 11 years, isn't that after Dharma shut down? Either way though, I think Locke blowing up the Flame is going to hit the Others pretty hard. It is kind of funny that he blew up the other hatch by not pressing buttons, yet he blew up the Flame because he did press the buttons.
edit: There does seem to be a completely different group of people on the island, which was kind of foreshadowed. Sure the the plane people and a few castaways are not Dharma people, but when considering when the video was recorded, it probably means they found some unfriendly natives when they arrived (the cloud security system, the whispering in the bushes). Also, patchy did say the stuff he said was true, meaning that the Dharma people probably got slaugtered by the natives.
Meh, I'm just going to watch this episode again.

1)the camera in the flame was working when john looked at it, that means it was connected to a station the people on the plane haven't see yet. this means that others were probably incoming anyway.

Isn't the camera in Flame connected to that room on the Hydra with all of the screens? Didn't we see Patchy appear on one of the TV screens for a second on the TVs in that room?

I thought the "77" was some type of distress signal. The C4 in the basement doesn't look like it was part of the original build.

It was in the question mark station
Edit: The pearl (couldn't think of the name). Lock took Desmond, Sayid, Nikki and Paulo there while Mr Ekko was looking for his brother, Sayid re-wired some stuff and got the camera going, and they saw Eyepatch man

Hmm. I still have 2 points of contention about the Others and Dharma being separate people:
1.) I mentioned this earlier- why would Dharma still be sending supplies in by air drop if their whole island team has been slaughtered? (while we're at it, how are the supplies dropped without anyone hearing a plane?)
2.) Juliet, the annoying Others doctor who's hot for Jack, was recruited by Dharma, to the point that they killed her ex so she'd be free of him. She's still around, so at least one Dharma person is there. Is she just a survivor the hostiles/others allowed to stay? Why would they do that? I think at least some of the Others are Dharma.

I would be very wary about thinking the Others are the hostiles. Remember this is LOST, the producers probably want you to believe this is what is happening so that when they reveal the truth it will completely blindside you. Of course I could be wrong...
