haha...seriously. You read my mind.

Also, the point is to create drama and convery a story...If we get all of the answers right now, what would be the point in watching. I think that there is plenty of action, suspense, drama, whatever to keep me interested in the show. And there's plenty for all of the complainers out there too.

I loved last week's episode. Desmond is a very interesting character and not a whole lot was known about his past. His flashback, while not all that revealing, did give us some insight into his past and how he got on the island. It was full of action, suspense, drama, love, time travel, daring rescues, the lady from the Matrix, bar fights, etc.

Now, in this week's episode, Jack had yet another flashback episode, but it was about some tattoo on his shoulder and how he got beat up by the natives in Thailand. Not exactly a major revelation. Nothing in the episode furthered the story line, except that the Others are done with the secondary island. I'm ok with answers not being given. That's nothing new with Lost. The problem was that you could remove this episode from the series and there would be no gap in the story. It served no purpose.

from what the creators/producers are saying desmond and pennys story is central to the story of the island.

Bai Ling Reveals All About Her Sex Life - 15 Jan 2007
Chinese actress Bai Ling enjoys sex so much she wants to die while making love. The bisexual 36-year-old, who will appear in TV drama Lost later this year, is so obsessed with sex she sleeps with as many men and women as possible.

She says, "Anything you can imagine... I've done it! It's in my nature to just run wild and I do. I love being naked and I love men and women - especially when I'm drunk. Sex is the best high. I want to die making love because it feels so good."

Ling also admits she doesn't class one-night stands and serious relationships any differently, saying, "For me, a one night stand and a lifetime commitment are the same. There's a lot of beauty in different men. You can't see just one man. It's too hard to choose. Before I get married I think I should enjoy it. I don't live by the rules."

I think it's time for a Bai Ling/Kate episode. I want to explore their relationship a little more. :D

I only started watching the show after XMas(between Xmas and New Years I watched Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD) and have been enjoying it. Perhaps I'm not as jaded as some since the show is still new to me, but I'll agree on one thing: A big question needs to be answered soon, before everyone forgets about them(the numbers, polar bear, etc).

I'm slightly jaded but it still keeps me watching and I know they'll answer the questions. I blame ABC more than the producers for jacking sh!t up by raising expectations.

Perhaps I have the benefit of never having to watch ABC or listen to their hype. ;)

I wouldn't consider the polar bears to be a big question. In one of the orientation films, they said that experiments in zoology were conducted. They even showed some polar bears in the film.

I think the writers could give us a healthy dose of answers and still keep us in suspense. ABC isn't helping by hyping up a big batch of nothing.

Ah that's correct. Forgot about that and was just using other posts as examples.

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it. The island seemed to have drawn Desmond there and Penny seems to be the only person not on the island that can help. Michael and Watt may come into the story again, but Penny has the resources to help.

Two shows: Heroes, and Lost.

Heroes is designed beautifully. I've had a ton of big questions on that show... Who does HRG work for? What are the marks on their necks? What is Peter's power? Who are the cheerleader's parents? But all of those questions get answered in time. They also ask new questions, but I know those will get answered too. They create excitement because you constantly have questions, and you actually BELIEVE they will explain things to you.

Lost WAS designed poorly. Every week, new, strange things happened, and they raised more and more questions. That was ok at first, but now it's getting old. There are a MILLION QUESTIONS, with no answers. The show should have been a 3-season show, with the third season answering all of the questions that the first two created. Also, once the questions were answered, there could still be some action/drama centered around how the survivors get off the island/interact with the Others. Instead, they're dragging out the show more than they should, and episodes like this week are totally pointless.

Now, I do not believe that the tattoo thing was part of the "answers." In my mind, the questions they answered were:

1) What did they do with the survivors they took?
- A) They kept them and asked them to observe.

2) Why did they take the survivors in the first place?
- A) According to the kid, "To show them a better life."

3) Can they really get off/away from the island?
- A) Yes.

The bottom line is, they were not clearly answering 3 questions in my mind, it was just a way to get them to get us to watch, and that's what I'm tired of. I've invested a lot in the show, but I'm tired of it now. No more questions, just give me answers.

The bottom line is, there is no way, at the end of this show, I'll feel like they answered all of the questions I had. No way.

I haven't decided to stop watching it, but I HAVE decided that I'm mad at it. I've invested so much time into it, I don't want to lose it now.

3. The reason for the NAMBLA facility

Instead I learn about a tattoo. WTF

NAMBLA? I think you've got something else on your mind bud....

That's all I want. I want them to answer just some (I'd be happy with 10 or 15) of the bazillions of questions we all have.

Damn, Kate has become annoying. "We gotta get him back. We gotta get him back". Die b!tch.

She sure has, I wouldn't mind if she died right now.

The episode was definately filler. I dislike Bai Ling (*cough* bad actress, overexposed *cough*) so that just added to it. Only thing that was actually noteworthy was the Jack/Juliet interaction and the flight attendant coming back.

Normally I don't bitch about the show, but I am getting tired of them trying to show how the island is changing people. They need to get back to the island being all mysterious and solving that type of stuff. I really don't care about Jack's changing leadership abilities that much, or Sawyers changing attitude, etc... In any case, most of the people who are saying they are going to stop watching, must be not watching anymore because this thread is only 6 pages. The threads for season 1 and 2 would be 20, 30 pages, now it eeeks out 6 pages of "suck. boo. garbage. boring. bla."

Wasn't that great of an episode, but still better than 99% of TV, and it doesn't help that we had a great episode last week. And apparently I'm in the minority here, but I had to go look up who that actress was. Bai Ling is HOT!

Agreed. Ive Lost interest in the show. I still watch it, but the next day without the 20 mins of commercials they stuff in it...I dont have to watch that night like I used to. There are too many loose ends and unanswered questions. Heroes is an awesome show...they put out questions, and give the answers. The writers of Lost just overwhelmed us with questions and never give us answers (important answers anyways). I mean...who gives a ****** what Jack's tattoo means? We already know hes a leader...has anger and is loney...we didnt need them to verify this...just more crap.

Anyways let's review the entire show:

1. Big dinosaur thing that eats the pilot is never explained

2. Polar bear

3. Walt has powers or something, goes home with Michael.

4. The Hatch and magnetism or is it time travel ?

5. The others, are they a cult or what and why don't they just introduce themselves, why kidnap and torture ?

6. The numbers 4 8 x x x x x x

7. Sigh ok I'm to tired to finish my list right now.

====

Don't forget:

8. The pirate ship in the middle of the island where they found dynamite

9. The French lady who we still know very little about

10. That 4-toed statue they spotted from the boat

11. The mystery behind Claire's baby and why the seer felt it was evil

12. The fog/monster that tends to float around the woods

13. The animals that appear to some of the others (like the horse for Kate)

14. The "creature" that was apparently big enough to knock trees down while walking

15. The two guys on the ice, working for/with Desmond's ex who detected a signal/noise

I could go on and on and on...

This show has truly lost its appeal for me. I'm convinced that the writers will just opt to avoid answering all the little mysteries they create and hope that as viewers, we just forget about them. That won't happen and it keeps me from enjoying the show now because I get too frustrated with the plot gaps. Ratings are at an all-time low for the show and I don't see them getting any better. A shame because the first season was fantastic and now it's hard to watch.

man is there any hope that at least some questions will be answered? last week's episode had me excited for this one, thought they would have carried on but now this lame epiosde again, talking about things that could have been omitted, man they are really getting on my nerves now...some answers now and then wouldn't be so bad....damn them...
