Losing my memory.

I have 4 x 8Gb Radeon DDR3 memory sticks, which I will give to a cruncher who can use them. Email me your mailing address and I will send them. (I'm upgrading to a Ryzen, which requires DDR4.)
Very generous! I think Kiska might need some extra RAM more than any of us right now, but if he can't use it, I'm always looking to build, expand, and upgrade.

Fred, make SURE you get the fastest DDR4 you can afford, there are multiple reports that RYZEN has some internal communication that runs at the same speed as the RAM, so the faster the RAM, the faster the chip!

Sorry, Rudy, but ThreadRipper is a different socket (LGA, with like 4000+ "pins"), altogether. Regular Ryzen CPUs don't fit X399, and vice-versa.

It may be possible to fit an EPYC server CPU (4 8-core dies, MCM'ed to make a 32-core monster) on those boards, since the sockets are essentially the same.

I think Tennessee Tony was just hinting that you should have aimed bigger, for more threads.

That's OK, though, I'm in the process of building my second Ryzen 5 1600 rig. I'm calling the pair "ThreadRipper Lite".

Well I got the memory, so now I feel like paying it forward a bit. I don't think I have anything as good as what Rudy gave me, but I do have a Radeon HD 5870 and/or a Pentium G3220, and/or a Celeron G1620 that are free to a good DCer's home.

Perhaps I ought to start another thread...?

Nobody wants my junk? I'm going to have a G3420 available soon as well, which ran a GTX 1060 Folding rig with no handicap at all.

I'll take last place on your 5870 if no one else chimes in. I still have a vista system I pulled a 280x out of I could house it in. But only if no one else wants to jump in and run it 24/7...Do to the AC running all the time I am shut down between our sprints.

Consider it yours, my friend! I am maxed out on the number of machines (11) at this point, so my only way forward is to move to faster internals.

So, I have those dual cores, and also a few sticks of mismatched 2GB DDR3, any takers?

I have a bunch of free 2GB DDR3 1600 sticks that need a home, also an XFX HD 7970 blower card that I want to get rid of. PM me if any of this "junque" appeals to one of my TeAmmates, parts should be used by DCers for DCers!

Actually, I have a rig coming (motherboard today) that has nothing but a 10 year old(I think) 9800GTX+ card, so I could use the XFX HD 7970 blower card.

I also have 6 2gig DDR3 sticks (not sure the speed) that need a home

ao_ika_red needed a couple sticks of memory, but I still have 6 that need a home. Markfw has a PM regarding the 7970.

Anyone have a LGA1150 XEON (haswell) ( E3-12xx-v3 ) lying about? I'd like to borrow it and see if my board can accept XEONs. Not on the supported list naturally, but XEONs aren't on the list for 2011v3 boards, but work fine.

@TennesseeTony , what board is it? I have a 1240v3, but it's kinda busy right now lol

If someone had any old 1150 CPU laying about, I could swap it out real quick and get the Xeon to you.

Thanks buddy(s), I took a chance and ordered one already. The board though, is a biostar hi-fi H81S2 v6, made for mining with 6 GPUs. It came with a fairly stout Pentium dual core, but as I don't want to mine, I want to milk the Milkyway, I need more CPU, as I'll have 18 GPU threads of MW (or 12 threads of Einstein, or 6 of Enigma) running at once....hopefully. (GPU's are AMD R9-280X's) (What's a 280X get these days, 350k ppd? hmmm, 6 x 350k ppd = 2,100,000 ppd at least. Seems a bit low, I remember getting 3.3-3.5M ppd with 9 of them)

I'll take the 6 DDR3 sticks off your hands though, I found ole' reliable sitting in a box recently (First gen i7-920), and ole' reliable has apparently donated some parts to other systems.
