Thanks buddy(s), I took a chance and ordered one already. The board though, is a biostar hi-fi H81S2 v6, made for mining with 6 GPUs. It came with a fairly stout Pentium dual core, but as I don't want to mine, I want to milk the Milkyway, I need more CPU, as I'll have 18 GPU threads of MW (or 12 threads of Einstein, or 6 of Enigma) running at once....hopefully. (GPU's are AMD R9-280X's) (What's a 280X get these days, 350k ppd? hmmm, 6 x 350k ppd = 2,100,000 ppd at least. Seems a bit low, I remember getting 3.3-3.5M ppd with 9 of them)

I'll take the 6 DDR3 sticks off your hands though, I found ole' reliable sitting in a box recently (First gen i7-920), and ole' reliable has apparently donated some parts to other systems.
PM me, they're yours.

Anyone have a LGA1150 XEON (haswell) ( E3-12xx-v3 ) lying about? I'd like to borrow it and see if my board can accept XEONs. Not on the supported list naturally, but XEONs aren't on the list for 2011v3 boards, but work fine.
Thanks buddy(s), I took a chance and ordered one already........

Some fast shipping, got my XEON (Haswell i7) in the mail today, and voila! It works! :D :D :D :D :D :D And I ordered two new CM Hyper 212 EVO coolers for only $21 each, to take care of my standoff problem I mentioned....somewhere. Now I can start planning how to build up....oh, what should I call it.... "The Double Precision Beast (The DPB for short?)" with 6 AMD R9280X's. Or the Milkyway Master? Enigma's End? Einstein's Eulogy? The 1680? (280X 6 = 1680, get it? That's some high level math stuff right there!)

My 3930K is going to crashtech, but I still have a G4400, a socket 1366 Xeon (delided) and a few sticks of DDR3. So let me know who might need some of that.

Hey Mark, I thought LGA1366 CPUs were all soldered? A delidded Xeon of that era makes me super curious.

Anyone able to make use of a i7-3770s Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz LGA-1155 65W Processor? Ordered by mistake (needed a 1150 which have since purchased and mentioned above), paid $132, I can't give it away, but will take much less if you can use it for DC.

The problem is I can't remember, and I have no 1366 motherboards left to test.

I THINK it was quad core with HT stock@2.1 ghz, running it at 3 ghz.

But don't hold me to that.

How about Double Precision Strike? ;)
