I guess the Creek, Rye, and Skirball fires don't count as LA? I mean it's not like the Creek fire is in the Angeles National Forest or anything.

AFAIK the city of los angeles itself has not been touched by the fire. The greater los angeles area is where those fires are located, not Los Angeles city proper.

Even the greater Los Angeles area is largely untouched. Downtown LA, Santa monica, the south bay, east and south LA are all perfectly fine. A few people's rich mansions in the hills burned down. I do not GAF about rupert murdoch losing his home, those people should've maintained the vegetation on their properties such that a fire would not consume it. It is their own fault.

uh, what exactly do you think "greater Los Angeles area" means?

Los Angeles is not burning. At least not the important part (where I live). Everything is fine although the 405 has been useless north of Rosecrans since the fires started.

Well as long as YOU are alright it isn't a big deal.

I used to live there. I'd think it means L.A. and surrounding suburbs. That's a lot of ground. That would not include Ventura, obviously, but would include Burbank, Pasadena, Compton, Inglewood, Santa Monica, Malibu, it goes on and on.

FWS lost the signal from the condor chick. :( The nest area did not burn so the chick may have fledged and is simply out of radio range. The fire showed no growth in the sanctuary yesterday. FWS is waiting for the okay from the firefighters to go back into the sanctuary and try to locate the chick.

It's a 14400 x 10800 10MB jpeg so I didn't embed it.

FWS was reporting a vital signal from the condor chick as of yesterday morning (Dec 16).

Oh, I can help with that.

Chick detected, healthy signal, fledged, say welcome to the newest wild condor in the flock. She’s a big strong bird. :)

I was listening music and read your previous post. :( Just as i read this post, the music i listened had a very uplifting part in it. :)
That sure feels good while reading this.

I drove through the whole area affected by the fire earlier this week. Crazy how it goes right up to buildings and then stops. Didn't see many destroyed structures - a few houses up on the ridge over the 101 as you come into the LA valley. Those were some spendy properties I suspect.

Figured this would happen eventually. Same thing happened last year when we got a ton of rainfall a year after massive fires. That's why much of Highway 1 is still closed.

All of Montecito is flooded with mud. 101 is flooded and closed from SB to Ventura. Several buildings on fire, probably gas lines. More Rain on the way.
