No he wanted it immediately when he came into office. He went to France specifically for the Bastille Day parade. This wasn't just something that came from a flippant comment. There's something much deeper at play here.

Win a war I have no problem with it.

Make no mistake Trump wants a parade so people can salute him. It's for satiating his huge ego. Country should not pay for that. He would also use it in a campaign commercial.

If Dump wants to pay for it out of his own pocket or get Mexico to pay for it, knock yourself out.

I heard this on NPR today. The first thing I thought of was North Korea. This is going to be a lot of money and the only benefit is maybe a slight uptick in the Military's optics. Even that could go the other way. If Trump thinks he is going to get any benefit from this he is deeply mistaken.

Can we get Trump a uniform? (other than the orange jumpsuit) I'm thinking something tan, with epaulets. And aviator shades. Lots and lots of medals. Medals like the Purple Bone Spur, the Twitter Warrior Service Badge, and the Golfing Endurance Award. Or, just let him borrow "Sheriff" Clark's costume.

No I did. That is why I said that if Trump thinks he is going to get any benefit from this he is mistaken. I'm sure he believes he will be the main focus of this ball, but nope. The Right will love the military, the Left will still hate Trump for a waste and the promotion of the military for no reason.

It wouldn't be hard to compile. I searched military parade on twitter last night and the response was incredibly negative. Threads asking for people with military backgrounds etc... were inundated with negative replies. Spend the money on homeless vets, training, equipment upgrades. Anything but this was the message.

Not hard, but that takes a while. Why not just link to the source? Don't get me wrong, what he did made it easier, but it just seems like a lot of time for what it is.

That and HuffPo can be viewed as one sided. There could be equal support in favor as well. The source lends perspective.

From what I saw though, there's no parity. It's not going over well.
