Chuck
Heroes
House

If there isn't anything good on TV I instinctively go to Discovery, they usually play something at least entertaining:
Dirty Jobs
Mythbusters
Survivorman
Man Vs Hotel

well..with the direction Season 2 took with the hatch, and what they did in the final episodes... I was pretty much hooked on the idea of a science experiment. Have you seen Season 3? Just wait for all the new questions that pop up, especially in the second half. :p

I am obsessed with the show and know a lot of little intricacies of it. The great thing is, they string you along because they pop up 10 questions, answer two of them, and some of the new things that pop up completely destroy any ideas you had for the remaining questions. The show is a total mind fuck, ESPECIALLY when you get pretty devoted to the show and follow along with all the screen captures of assorted things (smoke monster screen caps, hatch map screen caps, joshua (watch season 3), newspaper clipping in season 3 finale). I hate how much the show screws with your mind, but I love it for that same very reason. And the fact that the show now has a definitive limit of remaining episodes (48, split over 3 seasons. How they are correcting for next season only having 8 episodes due to the writers strike, i don't know), makes me excited because a lot of crazy things are gonna probably happen.

heroes and 4400 (since you said you like X-men)
Office and 30 Rock should fulfill your humor requirements.

You do that and you've got 144 episodes to watch already. You'll be able to watch new episodes for a few months at least before you care about the stupid writers strike.

I'm a fan too.

Torchwood, and Dr. Who are also very, very good series.

Hotel Babylon is good for killing time when nothing else is on.

Just some shows I like

Futurama, The West Wing, Arrested Development (definitely watch this in sequence), Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, 30 Rock, The 4400.

If you're into scifi, have you seen the whole series of Star Trek (any/all of them), Babylon 5, Dexter, Dr. Who, The X-Files?

Excellent choice. I'm working on re-watching the entire series now. The humor was just so quick and witty when the show was in it's prime, making it truly a classic.

Dexter, CSI, Arrested Development.

Get some old shows on DVD. Alf, Fraggle Rock, etc.
