Oh well, as I said before, I'm just in it for sh!t and grins, so here is mine...

And guys, don't slam me for posting an idea before the whole escrow thing finishes up...

Doh! should have refreshed before I posted... Seems a new thread is going to be started for the submissions.
 
Holy crow, that is a nice logo man!! I am going to clarify the original post for what I am looking for (its a bit "busy" for my needs)

Here is my entry Compudork

I will just say that this is the basic idea. I do not have time at this exact moment to develop this any further, but if you like it then I will be glad to finalize it, ie. a black and white version which can be photocopied and still retain the graphic elements etc.

Looking at it further I have to move around some of the elements, but you get the idea.

I can see why he thinks it's a bit busy, but aside from that I really love this one. The text especially, my typography prof would enjoy it immensly.

Same basic layout.. less clutter, or more clutter depending on your perspective...

Of course now, it is beginning to look like a war flag for a 3rd world country...

I'm still waiting for the obvious to be posted... James Dean silhouette and DV colorized with the Stars and Bars...

Playing around with some other ideas, may be a few hours though...

 
Thanks for the submissions so far! I feel kind of weird making comments as people are volunteering for this, but I'm seeing designs that I like, and I have my own taste in how I would change them. SO I will try and comment on each one that is posted as time goes on. So here I go:

AZOTH: I liked the text and coloring (red/white/black), as I said I think it is a little busy, and the film show in the picture is for still film cameras, whereas this will be promoting Digital Video.

MAGNUM375: Again, along with Azoth, I think you two have convinced me that the black/red/white color scheme is the best. I liked the overall design, but the X in the back and outlined text might not transfer well onto video and through different size manipulations I might need to do. I know it sounds insane, but even simpler than that would be best!

NOURDMROLNMT1: I think that it is just a bit too busy with the colors, I'm looking for something much more plain and I really like the whole red/black/white schemes that have come up so far. Plus, it reads DV Productions, but I need DV rebel

I hope it doesn't seem pretentious or jerky of me to critisize this stuff, but I do like the basic ideas that have been posted, and I ifgure if I give a little feedback, we might come up with something perfect. Plus, just by picking something apart, doesn't mean it's not good, I do it everyday in classes, and recieve critiques as well, and to me it shows that something is worth working on. Plus, what I have noticed so far is that the designs are TOO complex!! LOL I think this just shows how maybe you guys are too good for me!!

The critisism is needed in order for us to come up with a great design. That's one reason why Krassus' thread didn't work, he would barely reply / comment on any of the entries, so people are left completely in the dark.

I'm in Design so I know how critiques go, and so far you've dont it very professionally.

I'm sure between the talent which ATOT has, you'll find a terrific logo.
 
AZOTH: Just saw yor second entry, its lookin even more like what I want!! I'd love to see variatons on that one as well. Sorry I can't give specifics about what I want, I'm really just watching things form in my own mind as I look at the entries. I like the silhouette idea, maybe not even and identifiable on of James Dean, but some deviation of it with the wording next to it. Dang man, I've got all types of images flying through my head!!

Yea it's really nice - has the whole movie theme down really well.
 
IDNUT: I like the layout- the text in straight form like that, nice and simple!!! However, I didn't think of this before, but the confederate flag (or really any identifiable flag or object) wouldn't really fit my needs. But thanks for the entry!!

HAJIKUFLIP: NICE WORK!! I like looking at it, but I'm thinking for a logo it might be too interesting to look at (if that makes any sense). I am thinking something a bit more simple, that someone can remember even after seeing it for just a few seconds or so. Plus the detail below the buttons, and the rebel text might be a bit too intricate. But that is a really cool design!
 
Reworked a little bit to try and simple it up. Still might be a little too busy but its worth putting up for input..

Edit: All of these are being worked at 720x480 (Typical DV resolution) and 200 dpi (Will work for printing)
