Fightback against looting is under way:

British Prime Minister David Cameron said Wednesday "a fightback is under way" after a fourth night of violence hit cities around England, although a huge police deployment helped restore order to the capital.

...

Cameron said police have been authorized to use whatever means necessary to combat "despicable violence," with the use of plastic bullets permitted and plans in place for water cannon to be available within 24 hours if needed, he said.
It only took five days but they are finally starting to fight back.

Should have done things to prevent the rioting/looting before it actually happened.

Like what? I think that it would be tough to predict this because the politicians in power are usually far removed from those suffering from the political order. I think that the only thing that could have been done to prevent the protesting and civil unrest is to actually address social and civil concerns that the people have.

This could even happen in the US tomorrow, it's spontaneous energy through civil unrest.

The people who are saying that these protesters are just doing this 'for fun' are a little out of touch with reality. These people are of a social class that has been decimated by the ruling political order. Even the former London mayor gets it:

"The Washington Post noted Tuesday that former London mayor Ken Livingstone believed the unrest in that city was the result of pent-up resentment “over the weak economy, high unemployment rates and historically deep budget cuts that are decreasing government funding for poor communities and grass-roots charities.”

This is similar to Arab revolutions where the youth rose up after high unemployment (e.g., one of the main causes brought up for Egypt). American politicians better look at their own policies. We saw a little unrest in Philadelphia. Unemployment is very high among the youth in the US. We could very well see similar protests in the US.

1. Declare martial law and institute a curfew.

2. Shoot to kill anyone committing a crime or out after 10:00pm - 6:00am.

3. Bring in the tanks and the machine guns.

As common sense has prescribed for days now give the cops weapons and tell them to do what you know they want to, which is bash skulls and put these children in their spot.

You think I'm trolling? In the UK if you grabbed the bad guy's gun, and used it on him, you would go to jail.

English Law also states the use of "proportionate force" and the illegality of superior force. So the vaugeries are ripe for the plucking in court.

In any case, just watch the English courts over the next few months. I'm confident my point will be proven.

I have no doubt a lot of people arrested will get wrist slaps or be let off wholesale. And not a single person here would rather be in an English court than an American one if they were being charged with use of excessive force while defending themselves. In some ways the English court system expects you to appraise everything about the situation and attackers intent just to make sure you're not overdoing it. It's not realistic. And it's that kind of mentality why thousands of thugs continue to run around various cities in the country showing off their new shoes and TVs instead of pictures popping up online about the huge welts they've taken from being hit by rubber bullets (as there should be).

Yes, I'm sure more than a few innocent people will be attacked by their own government for the crime of defending themselves amidst the failure of the government to protect them.

Learned an interesting tidbit about Kentucky's castle doctrine today. If somebody is committing or attempting to commit arson, you're good to go to shoot them.

Somebody trying to burn your car, building or any property, you're good to shoot. It's mainly in there so you can shoot somebody trying to burn a barn, but the law is the law.

This is a great article, and from the UK:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...gma-spawned-generation-brutalised-youths.html

Years of liberal dogma have spawned a generation of amoral, uneducated, welfare dependent, brutalised youngsters...They are illiterate and innumerate, beyond maybe some dexterity with computer games and BlackBerries.
They are essentially wild beasts...

Another:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...n-and-UK-riots-The-long-retreat-of-order.html

To understand the cause of these riots, we need to accept that the police ceded control of the streets to the criminals decades ago.

----

The above echos exactly why I've told people that nobody thugs like kids in Britain. I've felt this before these riots, though. A special kind of thugs exists there, a really nasty kind of carefree scumbag.

Yeah, I think this has been clear for some time: Police chief moves to avoid criminal youth in front of his home.

Well it's coming to the states here very soon (we've had a glimpse of it, they're getting bold), make sure you're prepared.
