No not really, a chav is someone of any age who wants to be a gangster, likes to get into fights, does horrible things to cars (mainly hatchbacks) tattoos, hoodies, swears, drinks, smokes. I know chavs age 17 and I know chavs age 60.

They are the exact kind of people that riot because they think it's fun and it makes them look cool in their mind.

When a person chooses zir social class, then it is not discrimination to call them out on making a poor choice, but if someone is born into a social situation that is nearly impossible to escape from then it is discrimination.

The question is does Chav's choose to be a Chav, or is it a socio-economic lock in. I admit I don't have enough knowledge to make that determination.

I just equated them to rednecks, and I know that most rednecks are born into a socio-economic system that actively discourages education and intelligent thought all the while pushing fanatical religious dogma, giving them almost no chance at escaping the social and economic roundabout. It sounds like Chavs might not be in the same situation.

You cannot open a dialog with a headless entity. The only way to open a dialog with these people is by mounting dozens of police on horses and giving them polo sticks.

You know what the police have done for 4 days? stood there and took it.

Apparently not any more:

It will be more difficult to get a hold of the situation with the start of the protests, but once everything is calmed down (through the protests losing stream, being crushed, or toppling the government), the issues can be addressed by opening dialogue with community organizations and individuals in strong social positions.

Maybe that is what the Queen will see if the protesters manage to gain control of an armory.

I think that people are asking for international monitoring of the governmental forces, not the protesters.
