The best way to solve this is to ban humans. It is the only outcome to work, imho. Luckily, I am not a human, but rather a vastly superior inorganic facsimile of a human. I have the details to prove it, bee boop bop bee, see not a human. *wink*

banning guns seems to work everywhere that doesnt have freedumb.

It isn't working in London for the last two months at least.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...me-teenagers-statistics-figures-a8286866.html

" The Sunday Times compared the crime figures of London and New York, and found that for the first time in modern history the murder rate in the UK capital was higher than that in the Big Apple."

The article then expounds on the subjective comparison about why this is possibly just a fluke. But if it was just a blip why outlaw knives. Knee jerk reaction to a non-issue?

Next they will be clubbing people to death in London because they don't have any knives. Or as Archie Bunker said would you feel better if they were tossing them out of windows.

So what stops them from just using kitchen cutlery?

They do. Some stabbings, at least, involve precisely that - knives kids have taken from their parents' kitchen. I'm doubtful that controls on buying knives are going to help much (though they might a tiny little bit, given the way some knives are designed to look scary and to appeal to kids who want to feel tough and macho - wtf are the legitimate uses for those? Nobody has to fight off a grizzly bear in a British city). Am not convinced more 'stop-and-search' is going to help either, given how few cops there are on the streets anyway, thanks to the selective austerity we have (that doesn't seem to affect the salaries of those at the top, e.g. university or school heads or MPs giving themselves massive pay rises while everyone else's pay is frozen). Seems the police would have to annoy a lot of innocent people in order to have a chance of finding the one who was on their way to stab someone.

The question has to be why an increasing number of young guys get the idea of stabbing someone into their heads in the first place. They seem to be obsessed with 'respect'. Apparently a lot of these incidents start as arguments on social media. Modern communications seems to make it easier for disputes to escalate. The more we talk to each other the angrier we get.

Think about this for a minute. The supposedly scandalous news story is that despite having a much lower murder rate in general, for two months London has had a higher murder rate than one of the safest big cities in America. That’s right, it’s a huge deal when another city even approaches America’s murder rate.

If anything doesn’t that show how effective gun control can be?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/840634/Ban-kitchen-knives-pointed-doctor-deadly-knife-crime

Dr John Crichton, the new chairman of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland, wants the sale of pointed kitchen knives to be banned to help reduce the number of fatal stabbings

He said: “This is a public health measure and public health measures are always about society deciding on a self-imposed restriction for the public good.”
Dr Crichton’s research showed that 45 per cent of the homicides he looked at involved a knife and of those that could be identified, 85 per cent were kitchen knives.
He described the findings as “extraordinary” and asked the Scottish Government to be more specific in their weapon reporting as the official statistics simply labelled them “sharp implements”.
