Why? I've got one I haven't even opened yet because I haven't gotten around to it. Have I been missing out?

Yup, bought a 550 a couple weeks ago and I'm in love. It does have some quirks, but I'm pretty sure it's just user error. Best remote ever.

I got a 560 (I think) and it works okay.. It still has a quirk or two - but other than that, it is SOOO nice having one controller do everything.

Newegg had the 550 on sale for $49.95 a few weeks ago... how cheap do you want it?

Seriously... at that price, I'd buy 2 or 3! They make great gifts for anyone with half a dozen remotes sitting on their table.

because it supports about 5 billion devices. because it hooks up to your computer via usb for updates and config. because if there is a button on your native device that the logitech does not have, you can aim the native remote at the logitech and it'll capture it. because you can reprogram any button to do anything. because there is a display screen next to your extra customizable buttons. and lastly because any button action can be programmed to send actions in Sequence (do x,y,z, etc, across multiple devices, in 1 click)

^ I'll gladly take it as a gift, but for a remote control for television watching, that stuff isn't worth more than a $10 bill to me. No way I'd throw a $50 at them no matter how advanced. Priorities I guess... as my 7-yo Onkyo receiver remote still works for all my devices. $50 is quite a deal though compared to what I've seen.

If you just have a TV its a waste, but it has some amazing features that pretty much lets you control your entire setup with only a few clicks of the remote
Example: Want to watch TV after watching a DVD? Press a single button and it
Turns dvd player off
turns cable box on
changes input on tv
changes input on receiver
and gives you full remote functionality for each device

Bought a 620 a few weeks ago to replace my old Sony Remote Commander after Hurricane Ike dropped the ceiling 19ft on it. I love it. Now I just have to find a B/T to IR convertor for the PS3 I got at Christmas

I edited my post to say I already have an Onkyo receiver remote, and it has a macro button on it too... the thing is 7 years old now and still works fine. I think the cost of this product is crazy... it does sell on looks for sure.

Heh. For those devices that dont come with macro capable remotes its pretty nifty, esp if you have a remote control handicapped person in the house. Im sure most of the people on ATOT would be able to work 4+ different remotes but a lot of people freeze like deer in a headlight when they see more than 2

No matter what controller we get, my Dad will never figure it out...not in 100 years 😛

My mother in law is similar but it's easy to push a button to "Play DVD" or "Watch TV" on my 880. How much simpler/easier could you possibly make it?

I use three 659's and have three more NIB in a closet for when these die.

I would be lost without my Harmony remotes

Why would they die?

My 688 has been going for 5 years.

I have two little kids. They have killed one each in the past 6 years.
