Until they get a few years of use on them and no longer function as well. About all my 880 is good for now is turning everything off/on and switching between tasks. The buttons require extreme pressure to function now and getting the thing placed correctly in the charger is a nightmare. I am waiting until they come out with a more ergonomic design before replacing my 880. I want one like the 880 without the flush, tiny smooth plastic buttons so it is useable one-handed, that fits correctly in the charger, and doesn't wear out as quickly as my current one did.

I just purchased my 880, after reading the comments regarding proper seating on the charger, and I have had ZERO problems with it seating properly. It almost snaps onto the charger (I think there's a magnet in there) and beeps to signal that it's connected. Couldn't be better, and I couldn't be happier.

I think Logitech heard the complaints and fixed the charger. I read as much in later reviews.

I have the harmony one currently and I love it.
Yeah I've the same remote and it's great. The best part is I got it for free from Buzz Agent to test for them:thumbsup:

I've had my 880 for roughly 2 years now and it's been great. To those having charging issues call Logitech! The old charger that I had seemed to have contact issues. I would have to set another remote on top of my 880 just to get it to charge. After calling, they sent me a brand new base with a slightly different design. Additionally the new base only has 2 contacts oppose to the old one which had 3.

I was so tempted to buy the harmony one on sale for $199.99 at Futureshop during their boxing week sale. They also had the harmony 550 for $69.99. I am kind of kicking myself for not getting the Harmony one, it looks awesome.

It wouldn't work on my old Dish box due to it being a multi-room DVR, and not using IR for my box 🙁 Set it up about 3 months ago at my new house and I don't know why I fvcked around with 4 different remotes for so long. I love my 550 😀 (Thanks JackBurton) 🙂

You should be able to set TV2 to use IR. If you mean that you wouldn't be able to use the remote in TV2's room you could do that by switching TV2 to IR and getting the 890.
