Why? I've got one I haven't even opened yet because I haven't gotten around to it. Have I been missing out?

Newegg had the 550 on sale for $49.95 a few weeks ago... how cheap do you want it?
Seriously... at that price, I'd buy 2 or 3! They make great gifts for anyone with half a dozen remotes sitting on their table.

^ I'll gladly take it as a gift, but for a remote control for television watching, that stuff isn't worth more than a $10 bill to me. No way I'd throw a $50 at them no matter how advanced. Priorities I guess. $50 is quite a deal though compared to what I've seen.

If you just have a TV its a waste, but it has some amazing features that pretty much lets you control your entire setup with only a few clicks of the remote
Example: Want to watch TV after watching a DVD? Press a single button and it
Turns dvd player off
turns cable box on
changes input on tv
changes input on receiver
and gives you full remote functionality for each device

I edited my post to say I already have an Onkyo receiver remote, and it has a macro button on it too... the thing is 7 years old now and still works fine. I think the cost of this product is crazy... it does sell on looks for sure.

I would be lost without my Harmony remotes

Why would they die?
My 688 has been going for 5 years.
