So if this has now happened twice, perhaps it is time to install a proper door knob and lock?

I wasn't stuck with no direct means of communication and only the Internet to reach someone twice. I have plenty of options I didn't have then including phone, cellphone, window, laptop (with mic!), microcell, etc. Circumstances will likely never be as they were. ;)

The doors are both larger than a standard door and installing two standard doors would require making a space-wasting frame right down the middle. Even if they were the right size they'd need a frame to latch to which would prevent me from taking furniture and such in and out. I like my large doors. :colbert:

perhaps he plans to be making some citizen's arrests and/or kidnappings in the future, so he will get use out of a backyard prison.

That was the idea but then I got too concerned about what they might do to my precious collection. D:

Just thought I'd mention that she has done it again in the last year but I had my phone and stuff to call her and I have plenty of microUSB chargers for it. ;) I could have sworn that I had updated the old thread but I guess not.

She was born in the 40s.

You'd think in 8 years someone would have rectified the problem with the door handle/lock situation by now.

Dumbass.

I think a former president sums this whole situation up nicely.

"fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

It's NOT a "problem." It's the way it was designed and it works perfectly and the situation will never happen the way it happened ever again and it wouldn't just work with a standard doorknob anyway. I just thought that it was amusing that she once again looked inside, didn't see me, and locked the door (requires a key to lock/unlock).

Heck, I may not have even had to call her (I can't recall): she may even have even called me just after closing it (wondering where I was). After the problem she caused before she knows to at least call me and let me know that I left the door unlocked even if she doesn't see me and truly believes that I'm not there.

time to keep a sawz-all nearby!

Oh, there are plenty of power tools in here. :) Canned goods + can-opener too.
