That's the handle that came with the kit from Lowes (Built by their contractors really). The only way to make it any differently would be to fix the scond door so it wouldn't move and attach a block that you can drill into for the other door to lock with.

The window is not equipped with a window-unit AC. we made it the only windw so that there would be no reflection on the screen. Yeah, the walls are particle-board so I could just whizz on them and they'd fall apart. Don't want to resort to destruction when there are many options

Why did you have to use that handle? Maybe you should have springed an extra $5 and bought a different handle and fixed the door so you could open it from the inside.
