LOL! :laugh: Me too! I picked one up a Gamecube for $40 just last month! There are a ton of games that I really want!

I do agree however, that I don't like the fact that the Wii doesn't have 1080 HD :(. However, I have a load of games to keep me busy on my Gamecube and PC :)

If it had HD support, it would be the pwnage. So Nintendo decided to give its competition a chance. :p

I have a 37 inch 720p lcd tv. Gamecube games look great on it. My theory is that animated content doesn't need as much resolution as photo-realistic content, like television.

Really large HD tvs might be a different story.

5% profit isn't that bad for a console, is it? I thought consolues usually had pretty minimal profits for retailers.

I don't know, but it seems like more ATers have HDTVs than the general population. Or at least they're more vocal.

it's a gamecube in the same way that my gaming PC from this year is the same thing as my gaming PC from 5 years ago. all the crap from 5 years ago will run just fine, now won't it.

what he means, because you obviously can't think your way out of a paper bag, is that it's still the same processor and graphics architecture that everyone is comfortable working with, only with 5 years of performance improvements

this guy hit the nail on its head....
copmuter programming tools also don't need to be changed every few years but compare the top of the line PC of 2001 and 2006.
just because nintendo did not see a need for a architecture change (unlike MS and Sny) does not mean anything bad. it means the devs have less to worry about.

actually it makes sence. nintendo did not want to ramp up the price cuz other wise they could have gotten a much faster gpu from ati and faster processor from ibm they did not to keep prices down.

They're going to release about 10 games a month, anyone expecting a full library at launch is going to be disappointed. It wouldn't surprise me at all if support was eventually dropped with only a minimal amount of games available just like the 360 and BC. If you're itching to play Chrono Trigger try Final Fantasy Chronicles for the PS1 or better yet a ROM, because it's currently not on the list of available games.

FFC has nothing on chrono trigger, and square enix is one of the companies releasing classic titles for Wii.

FFC includes Chrono Trigger on the disc... hence my reason for recommending it.
