Can't believe I'm agreeing with you, but I agree with you on those first 5. Betty is good, but there are a couple of songs that aren't that great, I prefer Strap It On or meantime.

I'd say the 2nd side of Meddle (Echoes) , DSoTM, Wish You Where Here, Animals and then the Wall is near perfect

I'm sorry we can no longer be friends. We can still do naughty things together, but we can no longer be friends.

Are you kidding me? That album is sheer brilliance.

Nah, that album sucks. :p

Just because I'm a dick doesn't mean I'm stupid or have no taste.

Also, I thought Betty was a little more polished than the other two, but they are all good.

Also also (wik), see why I don't like Ns1? :D

Polished yes, but I think that's why I don't enjoy it as much. They were better when they were a little more rough around the edges. Still good though, no doubt.

Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique

If not perfect, by far the best B Boys album. In my opinion, in the world of rap ... this is the most perfect thing there is.

I liked Ill Communication Better, but Paul's had a more stoner mystique. Both are good, neither is perfect. Doggystyle is better than either and probably as close as you can come to a perfect rap album; so about ten miles away.

Seriously though, if this is gonna be that kind of party, I'm gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatos.

And Illmatic is better than Doggystyle. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Doggystyle a hell of a lot (oh, I get it!), but Illmatic is simply a better work. Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill are very, very close-personally I give the edge to Paul's Boutique-both are superior to Ill Communication.

I think most people in this thread are being lenient with their definitions of "almost perfect." If you can think of 40 "almost perfect" albums, you are not being selective enough in your criteria. I can accept that most of what has been said are damn fantastic albums, but almost perfect?

I haven't heard Palookaville, but do you honestly like Halfway better than You've Come a Long Way Baby? I loved You've Come a Long Way Baby when it came out, so when Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars was released, I jumped on it immediately, and I did not like it at all.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
Saves The Day - Can't Slow Down / Through Being Cool / Under The Boards
Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit
One Man Army - Dead End Stories
Dead To Me - Cuban Ballerina
H2O - H2O / Thicker Than Water
The Manchester Orchestra - I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child
Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon
At The Drive-In - In/Casino/Out / Relationship of Command

When it comes to The Mars Volta... I like all of their albums, but I think that DitC was their best.

Do you know how many albums have been released in my lifetime?

...also, "almost"

Perfect, I can trim it to 5-6.

Undertow
Anemia
Portishead
Siamese Dream
Downward Spiral
Storm in Heavan

How's that?

Now look what did NOT make it? OK Computer, for instance, is damn close. Nothing's Shocking... LOL, see why I have to have 40. It's really not that many when you consider bands like ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and many more have about a billion albums out.

Who put a greatest hits compilation on here?!?! DIE!

This thread is hard. Sorry.

Also also also (wik), let's have a fight about whether it's DLitC, or Frances that's the best MV album (I think Frances... ¿Hablas Español?).

L'Via is probably my favorite TMV song.

Now I need to listen to Frances again.. :) (already listening to De-Loused.. couldn't help myself)
